Age 761, November 2nd, Wildness

  Gohan woke up early the next morning happy that he would be able to start training for real, “I wonder where Mister Piccolo is he said he will be here to train me early today but he’s not here yet. Well, I better go eat something light and wash my face.” Gohan headed to a bowl he made from the husk of a fruit that was filled with water so that he could wash his face and wake up, “Aw that’s better I better go out and stretch before Mister Piccolo arrives.” Gohan stretched for a while before he heard someone flying towards him as he looked up, he saw something he couldn’t believe. It was Piccolo and Raditz they were both looking down at him from the sky before nding in front of him.

  “Mister Piccolo what is he doing here I thought he died.” Gohan asked looking at Piccolo and Raditz

  “That old geezer Kami called me yesterday to meet him and when I got there, he was there with him.” Piccolo said nodding his head towards Raditz. “Said, something about best way to prepare for the saiyans is with the help of another one, I think he’s going senile in his old age.”

  “I truly wish to help you guys fight against Vegeta and Nappa; I’m not going to lie to you two I fought with you guys because one it’s in my blood we saiyans love to fight, and two I wanted to see how strong my brother was. I learned a lot from our fight, and I believe that our best hope to win is you.” Raditz said looking at Gohan

  “Me… no way I’m not that strong, I’m just a kid.” Gohan said surprised.

  “No… he’s right kid you have an explosive power I’ve seen it firsthand and if you can learn how to use it properly than you can do anything.” Piccolo said with a look of understanding

  “You really think so?” Gohan asked,

  “Yeah, kid you have the power, you just need to learn how to properly control it. So, I guess that’s why the old man brought you back to help train the boy… not that I needed it. Well, I could do with a good sparring partner, and I can put our differences aside for the moment to handle the incoming threat, but once the saiyans are delt with I want a rematch.” Piccolo said looking at Raditz

  “Fine with me Namekian, I look forward to it.” Raditz said with a grin and a nod.

  “Well kid looks like your training got a lot tougher.” Piccolo said looking down at Gohan with a grin.

  “Finish warming up while I go talk with Raditz to decide how we should train you.” Piccolo said while walking away from Gohan with Raditz. Gohan was finishing his warmup when Piccolo came walking back to him.

  “Ok kid we can start your training, we will take turns training you, I’ll train you from the morning until the afternoon, Raditz will train you from the afternoon until the evening there might be some days, we will train you one on one for the day. There might be days where we train you at the same time, but not today. First important lesson of today is…DODGE!!” Piccolo shouted as he vanished and reemerged behind him and kicked Gohan in the back sending him flying towards Raditz who then punched him into the ground, causing Gohan to groan in pain. Gohan turned around on his back coughing

  “You said you would take turns to train me you cheated.” Gohan said as he slowly got back up.

  “The real lesson kid is that never believe that your enemies would fight you fairly or you can end up dead.” Piccolo said.

  Raditz reached out to help Gohan up as Gohan reached for his hand Raditz bsted him with an energy bst to the face. “Don’t expect help from your enemies.” Said Raditz.

  This continued for the rest of the day Gohan had to fight them both as they attacked him in turns surprising him. By the time night fallen Gohan was beaten and bruised he hadn’t managed to dodge a single attack or nd a single hit, back in his cave Gohan was applying ointment he had made to his bruises to help with the swelling.

  Age 761, December

  They would train like this until Gohan was able to dodge or block some of their attacks and some days Piccolo or Raditz would train Gohan one on one for the whole day, when they would do that the other one would sometimes go out and train by themselves and leave Gohan with the other person. Piccolo came up to Gohan as Raditz flew off to train by himself for the day.

  “We are going to learn something new today kid.” Piccolo said as Gohan finished his warmup.

  “What’s that Mister Piccolo?” Gohan said as he got up looking at Piccolo

  “It’s called meditating it’s a way to focus your mind.” Piccolo responded to Gohan.

  “Meditating… isn’t that when you take a nap sitting down?” Gohan said turning his head to the side looking at Piccolo

  “No! I’m not napping it’s a way to train your mind kid. It’s important to train your mind just as it is to train your body because a strong mind allows you to analyze situations and respond to them without panicking. There are some situations you won’t be able solve with brute force, if you have a strong mind then you can think of a different solution. Meditating can also help you learn to control your Ki better. That’s why it’s important to train your mind as well, understand kid?” Piccolo expined.

  “Yes, I understand.” Gohan responded

  “Ok then, let’s start, sit down cross your legs, and close your eyes and try to clear your mind from all distractions. Breathe in slowly through your nose hold it for a couple of seconds and then exhale slowly through your mouth, repeat this until you feel your mind clear.” Piccolo expined

  Raditz arrived in the afternoon to train Gohan and found them both floating off the ground with their eyes close,

  “Are you guys sleeping?” Raditz asked breaking Gohan’s concentration causing him to fall to the ground

  “Ow…no we were meditating.” Gohan said excitedly causing Piccolo to open his eyes and stand up.

  “Mediating...huh…I never could mediate, we saiyans can’t really sit still, we are warriors we must keep moving, we need action it’s the only way to get our blood pumping, we thrive on fighting.” Raditz said looking at the duo “Speaking of fighting, let’s go kid it’s time to get our saiyan blood pumping. You can join in as well Namekian you like to fight as well, right?” Raditz said with a grin.

  “Yeah, I do.” Piccolo replied with a grin as well. They spent the rest of the day sparring

  (AN: The title is of course a TFS reference. I brought Raditz back because I felt like he could have had a better role in the overall story than just expining Goku’s saiyan heritage and then almost never being mentioned again. I believe that Piccolo would no problem working with Raditz for the time being because he’s looking at the overall picture of how dangerous Vegeta and Nappa are, also because he can provide some insight into them. I had Kami bring him back because he saw into his heart and saw that he was remorseful and saw his potential to be good, and he could provide the warriors with insight into the saiyans. Also, he helps Piccolo train Gohan because Gohan is his nephew; he will py a role as I continue to write the story.)
