Over the st three months of training with both Piccolo and Raditz he learned how to properly fight and was able dodge most their combined attacks while nding a couple of his own attacks. There were occasions when they would take breaks from training to rest their bodies which they both said was important as to not overwork their bodies which could have negative effects on the body.
One night after they were done training Gohan was wondering around looking for some food and he looked up and saw a full moon for the first time since he lost his tail which had grown back at some point. When he saw the full moon, he thought that it looked weird before had bcked out again, he woke up a few hours ter to Piccolo and Raditz arguing by the fire.
“No, I’m sorry but I won’t allow you to remove his tail again Piccolo. I can teach him to control the transformation if you are worried about it, all saiyans learn how to control their transformation he never did because Kakarot got rid of his tail. Please Piccolo allow me to teach him to control the transformation, you don’t know it can end up being useful to us in battle.” Raditz said.
“How can it be useful I destroyed the moon and also that tail is a liability if they grab hold of it, he’s out of commission.” Piccolo said gring at Raditz,
“That won’t stop them, most saiyans can create artificial moons that allow us to transform, that is how we would take over pnets that had no moon or when the full moon had passed. We can train his tail like I have been doing, that way if it’s grabbed then he won’t get weak. You can believe that Vegeta and Nappa have trained their tail too, so they won’t have that weakness like I did, give me a couple of months.” said Raditz.
Piccolo looked at Raditz before sighing “Fine if what you said is true, that they can create artificial moons to transform than it would be better for Gohan to be able to control his transformation that way we can even the pying field. You get three months then we continue the training.”
“Thank you, Piccolo, I promise you won’t regret this.” Raditz said. Gohan walked up to the two sitting by the fire,
“What were you guys talking about what transformation?” Gohan asked
“Do you remember me telling you about how saiyans can transform during the full moon?” Raditz said looking at Gohan,
“Yes” Gohan nodded
“We saiyans can transform into a giant ape under the affects of the full moon which causes our power to skyrocket. When we first transform, we lose control, that is why you lose consciousness, but we are taught to control it and that’s what I’m going to be teaching you and make it so if your tail gets grabbed you don’t lose your strength.” Raditz expined.

Gohan spent three months training with Raditz after Piccolo said he would return in three months and left the two saiyans alone. Raditz would expin how to control the Great Ape form, Gohan was able to learn how to control it up to the extent of not attacking his own allies.
“I still can’t do it.” Gohan said with frustration one day after he woke up,
“Don’t worry too much Gohan, it took me years to be able not attack my own allies and you were able to do it in three months you are making great progress don’t be too hard on yourself ok.” Gohan and Raditz had gotten closer over the st two months as they spent more time together, helping Gohan control the Great Ape form, sparring and training their tails.
Gohan had even learned one of Raditz moves Saturday Crush, you had to rise your right hand in the air charge your energy then a pink energy sphere would appear and then you would throw it at your enemy.
“Uncle Raditz can you tell me more about the saiyans?” Gohan asked one day,
“Yeah, Gohan I can do that, what do you want to know?” Raditz asked,
“Can you tell me about my grandparents?” Gohan asked
“Yeah, Gohan, I can tell you what I remember about them, your grandfathers name was Bardock, he was the spitting image of your dad except he had a x-shaped scar on his left cheek. He was a great warrior respected by the other warriors and he wasn’t like other saiyans he treated his family with compassion kind of like your dad. Your grandmother was named Gine she was kind, gentle, loving, and she cared a lot about us, and she was proud of my accomplishments, you remind me a lot of her Gohan she liked to protect the weak. They would have loved to meet you.” Raditz and Gohan spent the rest of the day talking about his grandparents, and anything else they could think of.

Piccolo arrived the next day “How did the training go?”
“It went pretty good considering that it takes years to learn how to fully control the Great Ape form, I made sure that he won’t be attacking his allies if Vegeta or Nappa create a Power Ball. Also, our tails are strong and no longer a liability.” Raditz replied
“That’s good work Raditz, now let’s continue the training.” Piccolo said,
“Piccolo I’m going to go train by myself for a while, I’ll be back in three months ok.” Raditz said
“Yeah, that’s fine Raditz.” Piccolo replied,
“Ok Gohan keep up the good work I’ll see you in three months ok.” Raditz said waving at Gohan before flying off.
Over the next three months as Gohan trained with Piccolo, he learned one of Piccolos moves, the Masenko, you raised both hands up to your forehead with your palms facing out and fired an energy bst. They would spend most days either sparring or meditating training both their body and mind, one night after training Gohan asked, “Mister Piccolo can you tell me how you and my dad met?”
“He never told you?” Piccolo asked,
“No, he just told me you were his rival.” Gohan replied
“Where do I start kid…let’s start at the beginning my dad King Piccolo killed a lot of people and tried to take over the world, then he was stopped and killed by your dad and before he died, he spat me out as an egg with the purpose of killing your dad and taking over the world when I got older.
So, I trained so that I could defeat him, I fought him in the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament and I lost, your dad let me live saying that he would love to fight me again. So, I was training to fight him again to kill him but then your uncle showed up and ruined my pns but as soon as we beat the saiyans I’m going to kill your dad in a one-on-one fight.” Piccolo expined,
“So, everyone else is just scared of you because of what your dad did that’s stupid.” Gohan said,
“Don’t get it wrong kid I’m still evil I just don’t want someone else destroying the world I want to take over.” Piccolo said.
“Well, I don’t think you’re so bad, you’re like the big brother I always wanted.” Gohan yawned before falling asleep.

One day while meditating Gohan was able to feel something that he couldn’t expin so he decided to ask, “Mister Piccolo I feel something weird.”
“Don’t worry Gohan what you are feeling is Raditz’s power level, you have finally managed to sense power levels I think it’s time for me to teach you how to sense power levels and how to suppress your power level.” Piccolo expined as Raditz nded in front of them.
“Hey Gohan, Piccolo.” Raditz greeted them with a nod
“Raditz now that you’re here I think I should teach you and Gohan how to sense Ki and how to suppress your power levels.” Piccolo said looking at him.
“Yeah, I’ve been meaning to ask about that, if you guys hadn’t stayed in this general location, I probably wouldn’t have been able to find you guys.” Raditz said.

(AN: This chapter was more for trying to get Gohan to bond with both Piccolo and Raditz, I thought it would be best for each of them to spend some alone time with Gohan, so that they can develop a bond with him since this is going to be his story. They each will py a role in the story as I continue to write it, I had Gohan learn some of their moves because why not. I also used the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie as the bases to describe Bardock and Gine, that way Raditz change of heart doesn’t really come out of nowhere he saw how his parents acted and it left an impression on him, that’s the good in his heart that Kami saw.)
