Chapter Thirty-Six: The Statue of Titan

Tang Dun closed the magic book and pretended to be unintentional, his eyes sweeping over the bottom of the shelf.

Don't worry about mistaking it, because among the old items, there is only one statue carved from an unknown stone material, its entire body is pitch black, and still has some greasy and dried bloodstains on it.

About the length of a palm, as thick as a cucumber, the type of stone is unknown, but it's clearly very old, with two-thirds of its surface covered in cracks, and seems like it would shatter at a touch.

The statue depicts a giant, clenching his fists and roaring towards the sky, with every muscle carved to be extremely full and filled with a sense of power.

"This is an ancient giant statue, with a history of five thousand years. If you carry it with you every day, it can slowly enhance your physique." Glangtai was very sharp and Tondon only took a few more glances before being discovered by him, immediately picking up the giant statue and enthusiastically promoting it to him.

"What about that Minotaur?" Danton didn't reach out to take it, but instead looked at the dusty Beastman and deliberately showed a curious expression.

If Downton shows interest in the statue, he will be thoroughly swindled by Glangtai.

"A lowly beast tribe merchant, here to sell tribal specialties." Gelongtai was intentionally stalling the Minotaur, for the fifth time already. Only by making his opponent anxious could he get a good price for the goods.

"This is a good thing, the nobles all like it, 90% off, and I really can't make it any cheaper." Gelongtai was clearly boasting, if the stone statue really had the magical effect he said, how could it be abandoned here?

"Seventy-five percent off, if not I'll go to another grocery store." Downton turned around without hesitation, looked at the cow-headed man, and didn't glance at the statue again. After buying it, he could appreciate it carefully later.

"This is going to drive me to bankruptcy!" Ge Langtai wailed.

"Boss, it's been five days already, haven't you made a decision yet?"

A Minotaur wearing a worn-out leather armor walked over, his face already filled with pleading. He had been out for too long, and every day he delayed would cost him travel expenses, not to mention that some goods couldn't be stored for long periods of time and would rot, which would end up being a complete loss.

"Scram, can't you see I'm busy? Come back tomorrow!" Glangtai was in a bad mood. As a human, he naturally felt superior to beastmen, and this merchant was begging him for a sale.

The Minotaur wanted to say something, but was directly kicked by Glangtai and shut his mouth, but he just wouldn't leave.

Tang Dun looked on with a sigh, the cow-headed man in front of him was over two meters tall, his muscles were bulging, standing there like a city wall. One arm was as thick as a giant python, thicker than Ge Langtai's neck, but he didn't dare to fight back and had to smile along.

"Are you intentionally making things difficult for me?" Tang Dun's face sank, and he turned around to leave without looking back. "A big business worth over 50,000 gold coins that you're not doing? Someone else will snatch it up."

"Don't go, wait." Ge Langtai hurriedly ran to Tang Don's front, stretched out his arms and blocked him firmly. "20% off, can't be lower than that."

Tang Dun secretly let out a breath of relief, intentionally emphasizing the 50,000 gold coins to make Ge Lang Tai reluctant to part with them and block his own path. Otherwise, he would have walked away and there would be no way to unfold any subsequent plans.

"At least eighty percent off, then you let me pick three or four antiques from those shelves." Downton quoted a price and deliberately looked at the cow-headed man with a disgusted expression.

Dantès made this expression in order to divert the conversation onto the Beastman, making Glangtai angry at him, and incidentally dispersing attention so as not to discover his true purpose.

"Eighty percent is absolutely unacceptable." Ge Langtai didn't notice that his words had already revealed the focus of his concern, those antiques he simply didn't care about.

In fact, these things are just the antiques and second-hand goods that Glangtai bought from traveling merchants all over the world. The valuable ones have been collected long ago, what's on the shelves is just trash utilization, hoping to exchange for some gold coins.

"Alright, I'll give you an 85% discount, but you have to give me that leaf with the Elvish script on it. And pick three... no, five antiques." Tandon looked like a fool who had been cheated, gazing at the leaf that Golantai had introduced him to, without looking at the stone statue once from start to finish.

"Go ahead and kill me then, just one more thing!" Ge Lang Tai raised his voice, his face contorted in agony as if a demon was squeezing his eggs.

"Three pieces or I won't take them." Tang Dun complained, but still walked to the shelf and picked up the leaves at the first time, deliberately showing a delighted expression.

Gao Langtai walked up to Tang Don and began to introduce himself in a non-stop manner.

"You still have guests, so I won't waste words. These three items, if you agree, the deal is done." After fondling the leaves for a while, Tang Dun looked at the shelf again, picked up another stone slab, and finally reached out to take the statue.

Snap, Ge Langtai grasped Tang Dun's wrist, and a puzzled expression appeared on his face. After all, he was a shrewd businessman and instinctively felt that something was wrong.

"What's wrong?" Tong Dun's heart skipped a beat, and he forced himself to hold back his tense expression.

"Let's change to others, these three are no longer for sale." Although they had been appraised by someone before and proved to be worthless, seeing Tongdon who liked them made Ge Langtai uncertain again.

Stingy, shrewd and suspicious, this is the label of Gourville, the first merchant in the West.

"You think I'm some country bumpkin who's never seen the world, and you're playing me? Forget it." Downton deliberately dropped the antique and bellowed at the beastman, "Hey, back off, your stench is getting to me."

The ox-headed man's face turned red, clenched his fist and then gave up.

"Sorry, he's suspicious, can only use you as a scapegoat." Tong Dun apologized in his heart and loudly scolded the cow-headed man. He had already shown a look of disgust earlier, so it didn't seem out of place to scold him now. "Look down on the postman? I'll definitely make a lot of money in the future and go to St. George's Magic Academy in the Empire. Living in this broken countryside, wherever I go, I'm treated like a country bumpkin."

Downton amplified the volume of words like "academy", "countryside" and "bumpkin", as well as loud complaints in anger, all of which were instilling a subconscious idea into Gelongtai that he was ignorant and lacking in insight.

"I'm worried about what, this kid is just a rural postman who has never left Redwood County, how could he possibly recognize the value of these antiques? He was completely deceived by me and decided to buy them." Suspicious people are easily influenced by words, and after careful consideration, Grandet thought that those three antiques were worthless.

"Beastmen are all poor devils, and you're probably just a small-time merchant who doesn't have much money either. How could you possibly afford real magical antiques? These must be fakes! That's it, I've definitely been cheated!" Danton cursed as he walked out of the shop, seething with resentment.

It's been said that Ge Langtai does business in a very dark way. Tang Dun was poor before and didn't have the chance to deal with him, but now after talking to him, I finally understand. For 20% off materials, he can make at least 6,000 gold coins, yet he still isn't satisfied.

"A big business of 50,000 gold coins, I just shout on the street and those shop owners rush to trade with me, but I'm stupid enough to get bullied by you here."

If it weren't for knowing that Holma was a great encyclopedia, he wouldn't have bought the statue for no reason. Tanton really wanted to leave and waste some time, going to nearby towns to replenish supplies.

"Wait, it's a deal." Ge Langtai quickly grabbed three antiques and ran to Tang Don, shoving them into his arms.

"No, I'm annoyed just seeing Beastmen." Tong Dun's face was filled with disgust as he tried to push away Gelongtai.

"It's all my fault." Ge Langtai apologized and compensated, when the 50,000 gold coins were thrown into his ears, he saw Tang Dun leave, as if he had seen Jin Delan with small wings flying out of his pocket, he couldn't sit still.

"Get out of my way!" Tong Dun was very stubborn, but his struggling intensity had obviously decreased. "Don't stop me from going shopping."

"What are you still dawdling for? Get out of here quickly, you've scared my noble guests." Ge Langtai shifted his anger to the cow-headed man and used it to divert attention. "My store has the most complete goods, just buy them here, it's settled, 85% off, these three magical antiques are yours, the deal is made."

Gelongtai was originally prepared to use another antique to dispel Tang Dun's anger, but the stingy him couldn't bear to say it.

"Get me what I want within an hour and deliver it to the south entrance of the town, or the deal is off." Tong Dun gave Ge Langtai a cold glance, not daring to touch the stone statue again. Dealing with this cautious, astute, and suspicious guy really required being on high alert.

"It will definitely be delivered, but what about the shipping fee?" Ge Langtai was really stingy to the extreme and also inconsistent. His eyes shifted towards the three antiques in Tang Don's hand again, subconsciously reaching out to take them back for another appraisal.

"Of course it's you who pays." Tong Dun was furious. The town wasn't big, was it? From here to the entrance of the town, there was a wide and spacious main street, a distance of less than 200 meters, not even worth paying for transportation costs. If Ge Langtai refused again, even if he couldn't buy the statue, he wouldn't resupply him with goods here either.

"Alright, alright, I'll pay." Ge Langtai softened and glanced regretfully at the antique before shouting at the cow-headed man, "Still not leaving? Can't you see I'm busy?"

Arriving on Main Street, Tanton opened the Magic Book and wrote a query.

"What's the point of that broken stone statue? And from now on, don't make me deal with this stingy and suspicious guy again, it's torture." Danton was never a miserly person, otherwise he wouldn't have let Hannah and Fanny use the magic stone without asking for compensation, but facing Golant, he really didn't want to let him earn his money.

"You've made a killing, that's the Titan Idol, an altar relic crafted by the Giant Tribe. If you had to put a standard on it, it would be a legendary accessory that surpasses perfect grade, at the very least worth 30 million Gold Delrans."

Looking at the Flame Script displayed by Holma, Tong Dun's hand trembled and his eyes almost popped out. How could a broken stone statue be so valuable?
