Chapter Thirty-Five: The Miser

The female shop owner with a pleasant voice always looked like she didn't have the energy to do anything, eating an apple and spacing out again.

Some of the medicines on the shelves were not labeled, apparently privately configured, but there was a complete encyclopedia of Hormone that could identify the category and quality, so Downton didn't have to worry about buying inferior products.

"A rapid-acting magical potion, 50ml per bottle. After consumption, it can replenish one-third of the magic power of a first-tier mage with an empty soul within two seconds."

As Holma introduced, Tanton held a test tube and looked at the light blue medicine inside. He shook it and found no sediment, then put 100 doses of the medicine into the box.

"High-potency magical elixirs, twenty bottles, according to the standards set by the Royal Pharmaceutical Association, under the same volume, their effects should be ten times that of fast-acting magical elixirs to meet the requirements. However, the quality of the elixirs here is very high and should have reached fifteen times."

The medicine box is naturally made for storing medicines, with a soft inner lining and a fixed frame, so you don't have to worry about the fragile medicine bottles breaking.

"Ten Swiftshadow Potions that can temporarily boost running speed, thirty-five Stoneshield Potions, a Primary Strength Potion... no, don't want this one, your Hercules' Blessing has a better strength effect, and all the Primary Agility Potions."

Holmes pointed and enjoyed the fun of shopping, just half an hour later, let Watson pack six medicine boxes, bought two-thirds of the medicine.

"Sorry!" Tanton put away the fast-acting medicine, closed the lid, and walked to the counter to pay with an apologetic expression. Holma had just said she wanted to buy all the medicine, but didn't do it, making him feel like he was talking big.

"You don't need to apologize, I'm not that kind of woman." The wolf and spice shop owner was still as calm as ever, "Are you sure? 167,500 gold coins, I'll waive the change, consider it a discount for your first visit to our store."

"Will Alipay do?" Tang Don took out ten gems and placed them on the counter.

"Six is enough." The female shop owner didn't even reach out to take it, seemingly indifferent, still biting into the apple, the crisp sound echoing in the quiet pharmacy.

"What's left is the deposit, your next dose of medicine, I've booked it." Even if Horma didn't instruct him to, Tondon would have paid the deposit anyway, after all, the quality of the medicine was just too cheap.

Tang Dun would make a fortune even if he didn't drink it himself and just resold it.

"You're too late, our medicine has already been sold out."

Downton's face showed a look of disappointment, but it was quickly covered up. He had thought that only he knew the secret of the wolf and the spices, but unexpectedly someone had already gotten there first.

"There are many clever people in this world." Holma was not surprised at all, as she had already suspected the possibility when she saw that there were no high-level potions on the shelves.

Looking at the dispirited figure carrying a medicine box and about to walk out of the store, the female owner felt a little unbearable and suddenly spoke up.

"Hey there, young man! Your eyes are quite good. As a reward, next time I'll prepare some improved new medicine for you. Would you like to reserve it?" The female shop owner's voice was filled with a natural tone, just like an older sister praising her younger brother and giving him candy.

  "Agree with her!"

Without waiting for Tang Don to respond, Holma was already slightly shaking, hinting that with the current quality of the medicine, those improved medicines must be excellent. Moreover, even if he was deceived, with Tang Don's current worth, it didn't matter.

"Hmm!" Dongdong nodded, he wanted to know the female owner's name, but didn't know how to bring it up.

"Don't worry, I won't let you down. This is absolutely a rare dragon-slaying potion!" The female shop owner said, closing her eyes to take a short rest and cultivate her spirit for the upcoming journey.

Tang Dun slowed down his pace and left the pharmacy, pulling Hei Huang out for a while, still unable to help but look back.

"I don't know which guy is luckier than you, discovering the secret of wolves and spices." Holma was still sighing, seeing that Downton didn't notice at all, and let out a breath, "It's over, entered heat prematurely."

Slap, slap, Tandon suddenly raised his hand and slapped it on his cheek. The scorching pain made his dazed nerves wake up.

"Am I under a spell of enchantment?" Tang Don flipped through the magic book, writing out his inquiry.

"Don't think about it anymore, hurry up and go buy supplies!" Holma didn't plan on being a psychologist, comforting Tondon as he listed the essentials on the page.

"Flour, olive oil, clear water, charcoal for heating and starting fires, all of which are enough for the residents of Morning Dew Town to use for half a year. And there's also a large stockpile of armor, weapons, and magic stones. Are you planning on launching a small-scale war?"

Tang Dun was shocked, even if he opened the magical space of war, it didn't have to be filled up.

"Hmph, do you understand the sense of crisis? You must always be prepared with sufficient strategic supplies, so that even if you get trapped in a certain secret realm and can't escape, you can still survive."

If it weren't for the fact that Morning Dew Town's layout is too small and there are not enough goods, Holma could have given a more detailed list. The previous owner had stored enough supplies to support a population of 100,000 people in a small country for five years in the war space.

It's just that with the master's death, the magic book was severely damaged, and without the magic stone to maintain the war space, all the materials inside had rotted away over these thousands of years, or else Tang Dong would have made a big fortune.

"Buying up all the supplies in town at once will surely cause price fluctuations and unrest among the people. Are you dissatisfied with my comfortable life, wanting the security team to arrest me?"

Downton vetoed Homma's proposal and finally decided to buy enough supplies for five hundred people for three months after discussion.

"Never mind, let's just focus on collecting souls and setting up a teleportation gate in the underground city and town as soon as possible, it'll be much safer that way!"

Homa is still somewhat satisfied with the result, but Tanton is still a rookie and needs to be trained slowly.

Gelongtai as the first merchant of Chenwu Town has the largest five linked shops, naturally is Tangdun's first choice.

"Are you sure you're not fooling me?" The fat Gourlay narrowed his small eyes and sized up Downton.

No wonder he was the first miser in the Western Regions, and on his body was still the same linen robe worth no more than fifty copper coins that Tang had seen him wear at the Golden Elephant Ivory Tavern last time.

Not only are the buttocks worn white, but the two elbows are also patched, and they are so poor.

"I can pay first!" Tandon took out a gemstone and shook it, proving his purchasing power.

"Isn't it stolen goods?" Ge Langtai stretched out his thumb, scratched the two neatly trimmed whiskers under his nose, and rolled his small eyes around.

They all live in the same town, let alone that his son is always looking for trouble with Tong Dun, how could Ge Langtai not know this mailman.

Tang Dun didn't respond and turned around directly, anyway there was more than one store in the town.

"Wait, the deal is done." Ge Langtai trotted after Dangton on his short legs, like a toad, and caught up with him.

"Seventy percent off!" Tang Don immediately quoted a price.

"Absolutely not, the goddess is above, what I gave you is already the lowest price." Like a cat that had been stepped on, Gelongtai almost jumped up, asking him to lower the price was more serious than taking his life.

"A 30% discount!" Taugen was very persistent, with Gouraud's stingy personality, he would never give up on such a big deal, even if it was a 50% discount, he would still make a killing.

"I've lost so much that I can't even afford to buy underwear." Ge Langtai burst into tears, beginning a non-stop account of how hard it was for him to open these few shops and how difficult business had been in recent years.

"Go cheat the ghosts!" Tandon was too lazy to bother with him, this guy was stingy, but his business skills and talent for making money were renowned.

"Don't go, let's negotiate, 90% off?" Ge Langtai seemed to see the yellow gold coins flying away and hurriedly stopped Tang Dun. "Come over here and take a look, these are all antique collectibles I've collected from various places, very valuable."

Gourdon dragged Tonton to the pine shelving, pointing out the array of goods on display. This was his usual tactic: using a flood of words to dazzle his opponent and sell more merchandise, while at the same time making up for the discount by finding ways to increase the price from another angle.

"These items were all dug up by adventurers from ancient ruins and various secret realms, they are very valuable for collection. If you encounter a noble who understands this stuff, you will definitely make a fortune." Ge Langtai picked up a jade carved leaf, almost poking into Tang Dun's eyes, "Look at the color of this jade, it's perfect. Look at the text on it, it must be Elvish script. If deciphered, it might be a Dragon-slaying spell."

The Western Continent has a history of civilization spanning tens of thousands of years, with wars, plagues and various disasters causing the constant replacement of civilizations, as well as the loss and extinction of many once prosperous empires.

Those ancient magic, martial arts, divine techniques, and even technology were also buried in the long river of history.

Downton's gaze swept casually over the shelves, and these items were indeed full of ancient vicissitudes.

"In the capital city, there was a drunkard who picked up a silver wine jug from a street stall. The inscription on it turned out to be an ancient spell of the spirits, and in the end, it was bought by a wizard for 2 million gold coins at an auction."

What Ge Langtai said was true, but most of his goods were fake. He liked to collect antiques, but his eyesight was really bad.

"Not interested, 30% off, disagree and that's it." Tong Dun had never thought of getting rich overnight, was about to turn around and leave, when he felt a slight vibration from the magic book in his hand.

"Don't be in a hurry, we can discuss it slowly!" Ge Langtai refused to give in and picked up another snuff bottle, spitting out stars of saliva as he peddled.

"There's a customer, aren't you going to attend to them?" Tang Dun pointed to the door and couldn't help but say that Ge Langtai was really stingy to the extreme, such a big general store, yet he wouldn't even hire a shop assistant.

"Wait, don't go." Ge Langtai muttered, running towards the guest.

"What's going on?" Tandon opened the magic book and quickly wrote down his inquiry.

"The statue on the right bottom of the shelf, no matter what price to pay, must be bought!" Holma only had time to display a line of words, and then Galantai rushed back panting.
