58 - Arcade of Solitude

"Starlight Amusement Park is now open! Guests, please enter with your tickets in an orderly fashion!"

"Currently, the amusement park has the Death House, Hyper Velocity Coaster, Blast Off, and a virtual reality arcade."

"Today, we highly recommend the newly opened virtual reality arcade!"

With Cindy's pleasant voice, visitors entered the amusement park and headed for different attractions.

Blast Off was the most popular.

The Death House and Hyper Velocity Coaster had about the same number of people waiting in line.

As for the new virtual reality arcade, it seemed like nobody cared.

A few employees chattered on their walkie-talkies on the employee channel.

Liam: "I don't know what the boss was thinking, opening an arcade for no reason. Who the hell goes to an amusement park to play games!"

Ethan: "Exactly, exactly, that's what I thought too."

Mike: "Feels like the boss didn't do any research. Arcades are probably one of the least popular attractions in an amusement park. I have to say, the boss messed up this time."

  "Ahem!"

Just as they were chatting, Jake's voice rang out in the channel.

"Aren't you supposed to be working? What are you doing?" Jake asked.

Right now, Jake could only be described as feeling lonely.

Early in the morning, he eagerly came to the arcade, waiting to see the shocked faces of game enthusiasts!

But after waiting for a long time, no one came.

Only birds and insects accompanied him.

It was like someone added subtitles: "Don't let the elderly feel lonely, come home often."

Caring for lonely seniors is everyone's responsibility!

"Alright, I won't pursue it." Jake said, "If you really have nothing to do, help me hustle a few visitors over."

  "Got it!"

  "Roger!"

  "I'll get started right away!"

Liam, Ethan and Mike immediately started their mission. While the previous batch of tourists were still screaming on the rides, they went to the end of the queue.

Liam shouted through a megaphone: "Folks, at this rate, it'll take you two hours to get on this ride! Why don't you check out our new arcade in the meantime? There's no line!"

Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.

"Come back to line up later, and you might be surprised to find it takes less than two hours..."

Someone in the crowd raised their hand and shouted: "I know, I know, it originally only took two hours, but when you come back, you'll be surprised to find it takes three hours!"

Liam was stunned, then enraged, and said: "What the hell are you doing?"

Although there was a small interlude, the trio's actions still had some effect. A small group of tourists couldn't stand the long wait and started walking towards the arcade.

Of course, these people who went over were reluctant to waste time, and they complained all the way.

"Ugh, I knew I shouldn't have come to the amusement park today. All I've been doing is waiting in line, it's a waste of time."

"Exactly, if I really want to play games, wouldn't it be better to play at home? I just bought a cultivation game, it's super fun!"

"The arcade probably doesn't have anything fun anyway, just those King of Fighters arcade games, I'm already tired of them."

  A group of people sighed.

A male-female combination in the crowd was particularly eye-catching.

The girl was dressed casually. Although she didn't wear any makeup, her eyes, full of warmth, made her unforgettable.

Standing next to her was a young man wearing a baseball cap, with his head lowered. He looked like he was in the middle of winter, his hands trembling uncontrollably. The vibe he was giving was out of sync with the girl.

"See, I told you, I didn't want to come out, but you insisted on dragging me out. Now look what happened!" The young man suddenly became furious, shouting regardless of the gazes around him.

The girl looked imploring, and said: "Don't be angry, it's all because your big sister didn't think it through, it's my fault."

"Hmph." The young man snorted coldly, ignored the girl, and walked forward silently.

"Has your brother never been beaten up before? Why is he so violent?" A passerby couldn't help but ask.

The girl's eyes welled up with tears. She shook her head and said: "No, my brother used to have a very good personality, it's just..."

Ever since her brother had an accident during a racing license exam a year ago, which resulted in multiple fractures throughout his body,

Even though he was treated and recovered, the aftermath was that he could no longer drive race cars.

After all, how can someone whose hands constantly tremble drive a race car?

Since then, the young man's temperament changed drastically, as if he was a different person.

The young man who used to be gentle, humble, and low-key was gone.

In his place was a gloomy young man who would get angry at the slightest inconvenience.

Seeing that the weather was good today, the girl wanted to take her brother out to relax. She finally persuaded him to come out, but didn't expect to encounter such a thing.

As the older sister who grew up with the young man, the girl actually understood his feelings to some extent.

From a young age, the young man had aspired to be a race car driver, racing on major tracks like Michael Schumacher and winning the title of Car God.

Now that years of dreams have been shattered, no one knows how much pain the young man is feeling inside.

The group soon followed the signs, passed through the rubble, and arrived in front of the arcade.

Looking at the egg-shaped, technologically advanced building in front of them, the dissatisfaction of the crowd dissipated somewhat.

  "Looks pretty good."

  "Yeah, better than I expected!"

"But what's the point of it looking good? It's probably just gonna have King of Fighters and stuff."

  "True."

A group of people walked into the arcade one after another, and soon encountered the lonely Jake.

Jake stood up with a "whoosh" and warmly welcomed the visitors.

The crowd ignored Jake and instead looked around the entire arcade.

When they saw that there were no familiar arcade machines or claw machines inside, but only silver beds, their faces quickly showed bewilderment, double bewilderment, triple bewilderment...

Some of the tourists even took a few steps back, looked at the sign above, and were confused.

"Is this really an arcade? Why are there only massage beds?"

"Wow, if I couldn't read, I would have thought I was back in a massage parlor!"

"Boss, isn't this an arcade? Where are the game machines?"

Jake clapped his hands, waited for all the tourists to look over, cleared his throat, and said: "Everyone, I'm proud to introduce you to these machines!"

"They are not massage beds, or anything else random, but the legendary virtual reality game pods!"
