47 - Two Exorcists

The exorcist church is nestled in the Los Angeles Mountains.

Throughout the ages, the church has held a pivotal position. Generations of exorcists have subdued demons, making indelible contributions to the stability of the world.

However, since modern times, demons rarely appear, and even when they do, they don't wreak havoc on humanity.

The exorcists in the church gradually saw less action, and their reputation faded into obscurity.

At this moment, in a church in the southwest direction of the main church.

Two young men wearing Clerical Robes suddenly sensed something.

"The aura of a demon," said the exorcist on the left.

The exorcist on the right exclaimed, "Unbelievable! Ten years, it's been ten years since we encountered a demon!"

As they spoke, the eerie presence grew stronger and stronger, as if Diablo himself had descended.

"It's coming from the southeast," the exorcist on the left said, rising and heading outside. "I'll report to the bishop and have them take care of it."

"Henry, wait a moment," the exorcist on the right stopped him.

Henry looked at him suspiciously, "Ryan, why are you stopping me? You wouldn't want to let the demon wreak havoc on the world, would you?"

Ryan shook his head repeatedly, "Henry, I would never! I'm just thinking, we've been training for so long, but we're always stuck on the mountain. We have nowhere to put our skills to the test."

"Henry, don't you feel like we're wasting our talents?"

Henry frowned slightly. "Ryan makes a good point, but what does that have to do with this…"

Before Henry could finish, he realized something and looked up at the southeast.

Ryan chuckled, "Henry, don't you think this is a golden opportunity?"

This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.

  "But... but…" Henry still hesitated.

"Besides, you don't have to worry. If we successfully subdue the demon, the bishop will only praise us greatly."

  Henry began to waver.

Ryan continued, "Henry, don't you want to be like the exorcists of old, subduing demons and maintaining world peace?"

The more Henry heard, the more he felt a flame burning fiercely within him. His breathing became rapid and heavy.

As a hot-blooded young man, who hasn't dreamed of becoming famous?

  "Stop!"

Henry interrupted Ryan, "I understand what you mean. We'll descend the mountain tomorrow!"

Ryan was overjoyed, "Henry is truly wise and mighty!"

"Don't get too excited yet. Whether or not we can successfully subdue the demon is another matter," Henry said.

Ryan laughed, "Henry, aren't you being too cautious? We're not just any ordinary people."

  Henry smiled, "You're right."

The two hit it off and began packing their bags, a silly grin occasionally appearing on their faces.

  …

  The next day.

Before Starlight Amusement Park officially opened, Jake gathered all the employees together, revealed the existence of Silent Hill, and, as usual, asked someone to test it out in advance.

Liam looked at Jake warily and shouted, "Then why did you call us here? Don't we have dedicated equipment testers now?"

Jake smiled, "Silent Hill is a relatively large amusement facility. Cindy might not be enough."

"Boss, I suddenly remembered I have something to do at home. I'm taking the day off."

  "Me too!"

Hearing this, Mike and Ethan immediately sensed danger and ran for the door.

Mike ran the fastest, taking the lead and pulling on the door with all his might, but the door didn't budge.

"Huh?" Mike's expression changed. He twisted the doorknob, but the door still didn't move.

Ethan behind him was anxious, "Mike, why are you messing up at this crucial moment? Why can't you even open a door?"

"Don't bother," Jake's lazy voice came from behind, shaking the keys in his hand. "After you came in, I locked all the doors and windows. No one's escaping today!"

Mike and Ethan felt a chill in their hearts. Their faces were pale, and their lips were trembling.

"Come sit down," Jake said indifferently.

The two reluctantly sat back in their original positions.

Jake smiled, "If you don't want to go, you can find someone to replace you."

For Jake, it didn't matter who went in, they'd all be scared.

Mike's eyes darted around, and he thought of something. He raised his hand and said, "Boss, I think professional matters should be left to professionals!"

"Testing haunted houses is a good thing, so we should let Ian do it. Isn't he a haunted house master? He can definitely give us a lot of suggestions for our new haunted house!"

Jake's eyes lit up, "That's not a bad suggestion!"

At the same time, he was annoyed that he could forget Ian at this good chance.

Ian had helped him a lot.

He should give back something to him!

"But, will Ian come?" Jake hesitated.

He occasionally exchanged pleasantries with Ian, asking him to come to Death House more often.

But every time he talked about this topic, Ian would hang up the phone at lightning speed.

"I have a way!" Mike whispered in Jake's ear.

The more Jake listened, the brighter his eyes became. He nodded repeatedly.
