Hey guys, sorry for the long break. I recently started on a new story cause I needed a break for a while. Chapters will start up again, but I can’t guarantee the same amount of progress as before. Also, I started getting lazy with the coding, so I’m going to make a few changes. In this chapter, I’ll introduce an excuse to why the changes are happening.

Chapter 2: The 3 Spirits, Several Changes
Thanks to the donation to the church, Soula now had a guaranteed chance of having business relations with the Nacil Church. Also, until he got stronger, Soula needed people backing up his actions in case of emergencies.
Honestly what Soula really wanted now was to find a proper class. The crafter class he has right now is only a temporary position he got from the academy. What he learned was that people could create their own unique classes depending on their capabilities. What Soula needed was a class that could help with his major skills, including fighting and crafting.
Returning back to the blacksmith’s place, he asked if there were suitable places where he could forge in peace, so the head smith lead him to another branch store to work with other training apprentices.
For the rest of the time he had left, Soula continued to practice his smithing skills trying to combine his knowledge from his last life with his new one.

All over the world, everyone received the same message. In their own languages, and even to those who couldn’t understand words, everyone got the same message from the current ruler of their material plane.
The world will undergo a major update, and many changes will happen.
Everywhere people are in a panic.
“Why do you think this is happening?”
“Who knows.”
“Hey everyone, Skillbooks are now sold at 10% of the original prices.”
“Wow, what happened?”
“Apparently there’s a rumor that the current Skillbooks will be obsolete once the new system is implanted.”
“Many schools and academies are halting training now cause their former status training methods might not work.”
“Wow! Hey lets go buy all the Skillbooks before they run out.”
“Aright.”
All over the world, everyone is in a panic trying to adapt to the upcoming changes implanted in the system. Of course, some people didn’t care about the changes as they felt that it would change little of their daily lives.

On the last day of the week off Soula had, he decided to find the 4th spirit to absorb. Usually people would train their skills and qi/mana reserves before training their [Oversoul] but Soula was more interested in training his level as he never had such a system in his previous life.
“During the update, there will be many changes to the current system, so might as well train now. If training stats become harder after the update, then this is the most crucial time to train stats now. I can always easily train qi and mana,” thought Soula.
Taking the time to enter the material gathering forest of the academy, Soula hunted all of the monsters to extinction. Taking all of the rare materials and EXP, Soula practically cleared half of the forest’s population. Nowadays, each monster gave about 10-15% EXP, so Soula’s level quickly reached 400.
Entering the higher leveled areas, he started searching for a subtle monster to absorb.
“It’s been 3 days already. Hopefully I can find a beast soul to absorb before the update comes.”
Searching at the center of the forest, he chanced upon three dragons.
One was a golden dragon that he knew was proficient in magic. Another was a red dragon with a large amount of power and speed. The last was an azure dragon, who seemed to be the leader of the three.
Soula felt that he had little time left, so he dismissed the notifications that came up. What he didn’t know was that the three dragons in front of him were in the levels between 93-99, but due to his recklessness and sense of urgency he didn’t check.
Unleashing his full strength, Soula entered a battle against the three dragons with all of his mana and qi he could muster. Skipping an hour later, Soula was in the center of the three dragon’s bodies in a meditative position.
“Gotta hurry. What if I don’t get the rewards when the system updates.”
As he didn’t kill the dragons yet, he did an unbelievable thing that normal residents of the world wouldn’t attempt.
Killing one dragon, he absorbed the soul quickly and efficiently with his overpowered soul level.
Reaching the 4th Gate, he rapidly killed the other dragon and rose to Level 500 by consuming the two dead dragon’s monster cores, which were perfect for quick rises in level if you survived.
Due to his holy baptism, Soula was now able to cast high powered healing spells on himself, which quickly destroyed and repaired his body at a rapid pace. Absorbing the second dragon, he reached the 5th Gate. Taking the life of the azure dragon, Soula consumed the whole bodies of the three dragons taking his level to a rapid increase to the 6th Gate.
This whole process was incredibly dangerous. Normally you could die from absorbing too much power from a monster core, so how does Soula survive from eating the whole bodies of one of the recognized most powerful monsters? It’s due to his [Godslayer] skill which rapidly increased his chances of surviving. The skill was intentionally supposed to strengthen the body to fight against higher level beings, but now it was used to protect Soula from having his body collapsed on itself.

Absorbing the last soul, he finally reached the 6th Gate before he collapsed. It was at that moment that everyone on the plane received the message:

Waking up, Soula felt an incredible power from his very being. Compared to before, he concluded that his power multiplied by over 20 times.

What’s with this incredible change. If the stats aren’t that different from before the update, then that means I practically increased all of my stats by a few hundred. There’s so many changes that it’ll be hard to accept. What about the skill/spell lists?

My god, the changes are quite hard to get used to. With a change like this, how long will it take for the world to adapt. I guess the academy is in an uproar. They’re probably having their top experts discussing the changes to their training programs. With the introduction of SP (Skill Points) there’ll be many more experts now.
Also there are many parts that changed. Although I have a stamina, it doesn’t tell the regen amount. Also the [Dragonslayer Turned Dragon] title mixed with the fact that my race doesn’t say beastmen anymore. Did I turn into a dragon? In fact, there’s a new skill [Dragon Shift] so maybe so. My professions seem to take into account my previous life, but it feels like some are missing. I guess they only factor in if they correspond with events that happened in this life.
The descriptions of the skills/spells also became more vague, so maybe they don’t give fixed amounts anymore. All in all, I basically got a whole lot of info with barely any understanding on the new system.
Welp, might as well return to school. As it is, I’m past my promised date by a few days. I gotta return before the kids act up.
