Chapter 1: Holy Baptism

  Because of the incident with the titan Gorudo, the arena was partially destroyed. Lucky for Soula, because Akim no longer felt that he had a need to stay he forfeited. Also, this was his way to thank his opponent Kaito Amethyst for giving him an opportunity to advance to the Saint level.

  Not caring about that, Soula received his rewards the next day except for the Holy Baptism which will be held the day after.

  Receiving four A Rank Skill Books, Soula looked at the skillbooks [Identify] and [Handicraft].

  He pressed yes for both of them. Suddenly, information started flowing into his mind. When a person absorbs a skill from a skillbook, the information takes time to safely be processed into the brain. However, because of a certain event in the past, Soula holds the skills [Brain Processing] and [Memory Inventory].

  Why is he going to the Nacil Church? Obviously it’s for the Holy Baptism. A Baptism is when those who have natural master affinity in any element bestow a blessing on someone. The blessing only works once, and the increase in the affinity is random, but almost anyone would want a Baptism. That’s why those with master affinity are always sought out for.

  Of course Soula knew this, which is why he should make sure no one ever finds out about his duo-master affinity. Who knows what an uproar he would create.

  Inside, Soula met the MC from the Arena, although he was wearing the traditional acolyte clothes. “Oh, you’re here. I’m here to confirm that the Nacil really awarded you. Also I’m part of the Nacil Church anyways so I’m allowed into the church. Just wait here for the Head Priest to come out.”

  After a few minutes, the Head Priest came out. He was an old man around the 40’s. With pointed ears and green skin, it showed that he was a forest elf.

  “Hello, my name is Michael.” Reaching out his hand, Amethyst and Michael shook hands.

  “For winning the Grand Tournament, I will bestow upon you the Holy Baptism. Note that the effect is random so whatever you get, you have to deal with it.” Taking his hand back, he held both arms together and started chanting.

  The chanting was not formed by spells, but more like infusing the soul into his voice. He was calling forth his soul to bestow a new potential on the winner of the tournament. After a few minutes, when he finished, Kaito Amethyst recieved a notification.

  *Ding*

  Recieving the blessing, the Head Priest asked, “So, how much more potential did you get.”

  “It got raised by 56%.”

  “Oh my, that’s pretty high. You got lucky I guess. Usually the lower the talent, the higher the effects of the blessing. I guess you had close to no potential in light.”

  “Yes.”

  “Then we’re done. Now that you got your blessing, you can leave whenever.”

  “Yes, but before that I have something I need to give.” Taking out the sword [Blood Serpent] Amethyst passed it to the head priest. Checking it out, his eyes got wide before he hurriedly asked, “You… how did you acquire this?”

  For a moment, the head priest was silent. Then he replied, “Who is he may I ask?”

  “His name is Soula Voilong. He’s a student in the crafting branch at Sekaikoa Academy.”

  “Please thank him for me. If we need to, we hope we can ask for crafter Soula’s aid.”

  Leaving the church, Amethyst didn’t notice the look in the head priest’s eyes.

  “You, gather all information you have on the crafter Soula. See if he is backed up by any major power. If not, take him into the church, even if it’s by force.
