CHAPTER XXIV

An era was coming to an end. The campaign the Archangels had launched with the purpose of saving the remaining inhabitants of Earth was beginning.

Raphael, together with Hercules and Perseus, traveled a long path to reach the descendants of Enoch. Along the way, they encountered a group of wild and violent men who were feeding on the few animals that remained. From a small mountain, they observed that not only were these men committing crimes against those living beings, but they had also dismembered several humans—likely members of a family who had lived in the area. These murderers were most likely traffickers, invading homes and selling children.

Inside a cage, a small girl could be seen. The heroes feared the worst, and the desire to rescue the innocent child was reflected on their faces. Raphael understood and let them go. The warriors killed all the traffickers and, taking the girl, brought her with them.

Days later, they arrived at a small field. In the center was a house made of wood, stone, and mud. The atmosphere was pleasant. A man, his wife, three boys, and two girls lived there. Raphael decided to wait until the father was alone to speak to him and avoid causing fear. When the man went to fetch water, the Archangel intercepted him. The frightened human tried to flee, thinking a hybrid had found him, but Raphael stopped him and said:

—Do not be afraid, descendant of Enoch’s lineage. I have not come to harm you.

The man stopped trying to flee and listened to his words.

—Tell me, please, strange visitor… what do you want from me?

—First of all, tell me your name —the Archangel asked.

—My name is Noah, and you said it well. I am a descendant of Enoch… a knower of the gods.

—Very well, Noah. My name is not important right now, but you may call me “Messenger Angel.” I’ve come to bring you a very important message. I need you to listen closely.

Raphael explained everything that was happening in the world… and what would soon come. At first, Noah couldn’t believe it—especially when he heard about an endless rain, since it hadn’t rained in years. However, his heart clung to the Angel’s words.

Following Raphael’s instructions and with the help of the heroes, Noah began to work. He also adopted the rescued girl so that, in the future, she could protect his bloodline.

The Archangel marked the exact dimensions the ark should have. Noah knew how to prepare clay and work with wood, while Hercules and Perseus acted as living tools, carrying enormous stones and timber. They also built a deep canal from a nearby river so the water could reach the site faster. Each time a joint or column was completed, Raphael sealed it with his magic, granting it strength and resilience.

Meanwhile, Agatha guided the few remaining giants to a safe place. Uriel and her companions took charge of gathering all surviving animals and guiding them to the ark’s location. Along the way, they encountered humans and nocturnal walkers, whom they eliminated to prevent the news from spreading.

Years passed since they began, and a multitude of animals of all species gathered around the ark. The challenge was how to feed them and stop them from attacking one another. Gabriel, using for the first time the mind-speech ability he had learned from Remeiel, explained the situation to them. The animals understood and agreed to feed on herbs and fruits that Gabriel would provide. They would not lack food or water.

Matrael went to Shemihaza to speak about the encounter with the Archangels, who were still alive. He told him about their alliance with the queen of the giants and the three rebellious hybrids. He also warned that their powers had grown.

The Patriarch understood that they were plotting something. Most likely, they were preparing to face the Titans, so he ordered:

—It’s best to let them continue whatever they’re doing. I have no idea what it is, but if the Judges awaken from their slumber, these youths could serve as our shield. Killing them now would be foolish… and then we’d have to face those four ourselves. Spread the word and tell Asael not to do anything stupid.

—As you command, my lord —Matrael replied and departed.

The ark was almost ready. Uriel summoned Raphael and Gabriel to discuss the method they would use to flood the world. It was an extremely difficult task, as the sky was clear day and night. They would need to work together.

Gabriel descended to the Earth's core. He saw a layer of liquid fire covering everything, but he kept going until he found internal channels filled with an infinite amount of water. Then he began carefully creating pathways to the surface, allowing the water to merge with seas and oceans, raising their level. This also created vapor, forming massive clouds that covered the skies.

Uriel, using all her energy, condensed the vapor. This provoked devastating thunder and lightning across the sky.

Raphael, meanwhile, created massive portals in the planet’s oceans. Using his ability to transport matter, he opened them in multiple places, causing water to fall in torrents.

Noah and the heroes had just finished the ark. They began guiding the frightened animals aboard. The rain had started, along with hurricanes and tornadoes across the Earth. Darkness reigned.

A horde of nocturnals arrived, attempting to take over everything. Hercules and Perseus fought them tirelessly, protecting the humans and animals until the ark’s doors were fully shut.

But the battle grew harder. Water began to rise, and they believed they would drown. The nocturnals climbed onto the ark’s roof, trying to open it.

Then, Uriel and her companions arrived, destroying the invaders and rescuing the heroes lost in the depths. Raphael sealed the vessel with his magic.

They then went for Agatha, taking the giants to high mountains where the water could not reach them. Finally, the Archangels headed to the ends of the Earth—their refuge.

This plan took the Watchers by surprise. Although they tried to stop it, they could do nothing. They only managed to rescue some of their children and villagers.

The water spread so rapidly that most humans perished, including those contaminated by Asael’s plague and the hybrids. The Archangels’ plan had worked: the world was being purified by nature’s most powerful element—water.

Shemihaza remained silent, thoughtful, as the waters covered all dry land. Only a few mountains remained untouched by the flood.

On a great mountain, there was a safe cave where the giants took refuge. Kindly, they gave shelter to thousands of birds. Gabriel had taught them to make fire, which allowed them to withstand the cold and protect the food they had stored for months.

Many wondered if things could ever return to normal after such a drastic measure. But there was no other choice. All they could do was wait… and let nature do the rest.

The good thing was that, despite the waves and raging winds, the ark had been built to withstand it all. Noah and his family survived the fear, adapting to this new way of life, trusting that the future would be better.

A little over a year passed since humans and animals entered the ark. The rains and winds ceased after the first two months. Gabriel visited them periodically, bringing food and ensuring they were safe.

Soon after, the waters receded. Raphael removed the enchantment from the ark, allowing the humans and animals to come out and begin repopulating the planet.

In the blink of an eye for the Archangels, the Earth began to be reborn. Nature bore fruit, covering every corner of the world.

Humans spread across the planet. And as the years passed, their intelligence evolved… as did their dominant nature. The Archangels believed this progress might become dangerous for them, but they chose not to interfere, so as not to alter the natural order. They would only observe the movements of the Watchers.

Many men and women inherited magical knowledge and learned to wield it. This sparked new wars, as the most powerful ones divided the world into kingdoms, and disputes for dominion, wealth, and territory began. With the help of sorcerers, witches, mages, and warriors, the bloodshed became even greater.

Demons, seizing this new opportunity, appeared before them, granting power and knowledge… feeding off their crimes.

Believing in the existence of “gods” to worship, humans clung to that faith. They gave them names, offered sacrifices… and all their actions were rooted in those ideologies.

  The result of all this…

  was chaos.
