On the taxi, Fang Lin gradually figured out the purpose of the stolen glasses. They had a skill called "Investigation": after activation, it continuously consumed spiritual power and distinguished people into five colors: red, indicating hostility towards oneself; yellow, indicating someone who needs to be killed for one's mission; green, indicating kindness; gray-white, indicating insignificance; and purple, indicating someone with the same Nightmare Seal as oneself. Currently, the information displayed about these individuals was very simple, just a name.
The firearms company wasn't too far from here, and the taxi arrived quickly. If it were someone else, they might not have noticed anything, but Fang Lin immediately judged that this place was only a few hundred meters away from the old building where they first entered the world! This was already a fairly obvious hint! It's just that because of their direct and intense methods that day, the little rascal harbored resentment and deliberately guided them to the distant place controlled by the Black Hand Party.
After Fang Lin got off the car, he headed towards the Ravenswood Firearms Company. From the outside, it looked like a dilapidated hotel. Upon entering, he was greeted by an indifferent man who quoted him an exorbitant room price. The attitude and the dark, foul-smelling water flowing around were enough to make most people turn back immediately. Fang Lin, however, smiled politely, doffed his hat, and bowed, saying:
"I was introduced by Janine Laine."
The man hesitated, and Fang Lin had already slipped a twenty-dollar bill into his hand. He looked Fang Lin up and down, then glanced around outside before tossing away the cigarette butt and saying coldly:
"If you came here with ill intentions, be careful or you'll end up lying dead on the street!"
Fang Lin revealed a harmless and sincere smile:
"Lead the way, I'm here to give you guys some money."
The man's rigid face also moved:
"It's not bad to send money."
Two people then entered a stairwell through the back door. Fang Lin suddenly realized that this room was like an elevator, quickly closing tightly, with no gaps up or down, left or right, while the man remained outside. A flash of insight struck him, and he suddenly noticed red lights flashing around him, followed by a synthesized male voice saying:
"Gun scan in progress, no firearms found."
"Scanning for knives in progress, none found."
"Bioscan in progress, no toxic substances detected."
"Electronic tracker scan in progress, no trackers or bugs found."
"All is well, the gates are open."
After Fang Lin came out, the rigid man's complexion improved a lot and became more enthusiastic. He led him through the backyard, pushed open the small door next to it, and entered a heavily guarded building. The person who received Fang Lin was replaced by an old man who looked very experienced and astute.
"You can call me Mr Turner." The old man said straightforwardly.
Fang Lin smiled and adjusted his glasses, but the old man's first words were a lie. The glasses displayed that his name was Thomas, but the color of the name was green, indicating that there was still room for cooperation between them.
"I need... some small things for self-defense." Fang Lin carefully chose his words and said, "Of course, the quality of these things must be absolutely guaranteed."
"Little thing?" Turner's expression was priceless.
"It's something that is convenient to carry, and yet, its power cannot be underestimated." Fang Lin said skillfully "This can reflect the strength of your company. You should know, apart from here, I have many other options, such as Bobby Brothers."
Terner's face stiffened when he heard the four words "Bobby Brothers", obviously impressed by this company under the Black Hand Party. The old man stared at Fang Lin:
"What you get is what you pay for, and the richness and quality of our company's products are absolutely unimaginable!"
Fang Lin understood the implication of his words, and at this time he only had a few thousand US dollars in cash that he had robbed from the boss of the Bao Bi Brothers supermarket. He took it out and slapped it on the table. Turner frowned at the stack of bills, which was not thick but absolutely could not be called thick, and immediately said disdainfully:
"I'm very disappointed, sir, and I fear you will be too. This money is only enough to buy one of the triggers we need."
Fang Lin had long been prepared and coldly laughed:
"What do you want me to do? A federally wanted fugitive using a credit card? Or swaggering in with a briefcase full of cash? If I dare to come, then I must be able to take out something of equal value! I'm afraid you don't know the goods!"
"Oh?" Turner's eyes sparkled with curiosity behind his glasses as he listened to Fang Lin's blunt words. The old man chuckled and said, "Don't worry, sir. Our company has experts in various fields who can appraise the items brought by customers, accurately determine their value, and fairly exchange them for something of equal value that they need."
"So." Fang Lin said: "Please find an ancient European coin expert."
The request was surprisingly not rejected, and half an hour later, Turner really found an expert in this field. Fang Lin took out one of the twenty silver coins he had obtained from the Round Table Knights' world. During his spare time in the Dreamspace, he inadvertently discovered that this precious object could be processed using cutting techniques. The original attribute of the silver coin was:
20 Silver Coins, a valuable item that can be used in medieval scene, exchange for 1000 points.
And then it became:
20 pieces of shiny silver coins, valuable items that can be used in various civilized scenes, and can be exchanged for 1500 points.
The expert was clearly a professional, he picked it up and took one look, immediately exclaiming: "Oh God! This is a rare coin issued by the Scottish people in the early 10th century, said to have been minted by the extremely evil Galipodi Grand Duke. It's a miracle that it has survived until today! And yet it still looks brand new, as if it had just been minted!"
Fang Lin coughed and deliberately spoke in a rough tone:
"Just say how much it costs."
The expert appraised it at twenty thousand dollars. Turner heard this and said with a straight face:
"Sir, we are not antique dealers. Unfortunately, $20,000 is still a big gap between us to reach an agreement."
Fang Lin smiled coldly and reached into his pocket, pulling out nine more silver coins. The experts' eyes widened in shock: "Good heavens! Ten identical silver coins, their value will skyrocket!"
Turner glared at the expert and said with difficulty:
"If you want the best goods...... it's still not enough."
