Chapter 66 Conspiracy

The feeling of being pushed back always makes me feel depressed, but as long as I "fight" with her, I have absolute control.

A night of passion has left me exhausted, with a feeling of being hollowed out...

After we "ceased fire", I chatted with Su Ping for a couple of sentences and then fell fast asleep.

After waking up from my nap, I went to the northern part of the village again to smell the stinky river ditch. It's said that when dealing with this female vagabond, one has to come here to "enjoy" the smelly atmosphere, and I don't know whether I should cry or laugh.

After coming out of the stinky river ditch, I wandered around the village and slowly came to the west entrance of the village waiting for Su Ping's arrival.

It wasn't until about an hour later that Su Ping finally arrived. After she came, she made a gesture to me first, and then we carefully walked towards the witch's house together.

Because Su Ping knew early on that the witch and Hanzi, as well as the man in black, were not at home, so we two crouched in the grass thicket without being too cautious, and walked very quickly. The reason we still crouched in the grass thicket was because we were afraid of being seen by the women in the village coming in this direction.

After about ten minutes or so, we arrived in front of the old witch's house.

We arrived at the witch's house, and then I saw Su Ping scanning around in all directions. After finding nothing unusual, she made a gesture to me, and then we slipped out of the bushes one after another, coming directly to the front door of the witch's house.

As we approached the witch's door, Su Ping picked up four or five small stones from the ground as before, then pushed open the door and threw two of them inside.

As soon as these two small stones were thrown in, instantly, the room transmitted that piercing metal friction sound, and a strong shock was also transmitted from underfoot. Behind it was still accompanied by the beast-like howling sound I heard before.

"What's going on? Why did throwing in two stones cause such a commotion? And what was that strange cry? It sends shivers down my spine!" I asked Su Ping.

When I asked this, Su Ping smiled and said: "This is a mechanism that even I can't explain, but I feel it should be voice-controlled or gravity-controlled. If we throw two stones in, there will be sounds or gravitational responses inside, which will trigger the mechanism. If we don't trigger this mechanism, if we make any slight noise when entering, it won't end well. Moreover, this entrance mechanism is triggered about every five minutes, and only triggers when entering. As for those strange calls, they might be the sounds of some weird thing that the witch is studying, but I'm not sure either."

I nodded in understanding as Su Ping said so.

After the sound and vibration had completely disappeared, Su Ping thoroughly pushed open the door of the witch's house, and then we carefully walked in.

As soon as I walked in, I almost threw up from the strange smell in the room. The room was filled with a pungent smell, accompanied by an inexplicable medicinal smell.

I immediately pulled a long face, and had an urge to vomit. Su Ping whispered to me: "Bear with it for a moment, this room is where the witch usually conducts various experiments, so the smell is inevitably somewhat unbearable."

"What kind of experiments? What experiments?" I asked.

"For example, experimenting with the effects of certain poisons, or testing the efficacy of certain poisonous plants... anyway, it's a whole bunch of disgusting experiments that you're better off not knowing about." Su Ping wanted to continue saying something to me, but in the end she swallowed her words and didn't say anything more.

Although I was curious about what had happened with Su Ping, she didn't tell me the details, and I didn't ask either. I just followed her silently.

The structure of the witch's room was no different from that of an ordinary house, but what was worth mentioning was that the witch's house had many rooms, with large and small rooms estimated to be over a dozen. I saw Su Ping walk into the second-to-last room on the right-hand side at the far end, and she pushed open the door and walked in.

After the door of this room was pushed open, I found that there were several large plastic buckets in the room. What was inside the bucket, I wasn't sure yet, but from the outside, there was a faint black shadow inside, and it looked like the bucket must be hiding something.

Apart from a few barrels, there were also several tables around with various strange and peculiar bottles and jars that I didn't recognize. And on one of those tables, I even saw a few things that made my hair stand on end - they were actually several white skulls.

Seeing these skulls, I felt a chill down my spine. It seemed especially frightening to see this kind of skull here.

When I saw these skulls, I didn't dare to look anymore, so I shifted my attention to Su Ping. I found that after entering this room, Su Ping only kept me at the door and didn't take me further inside. She squatted down and tapped the ground beneath our feet with her hand, as if listening to the sound of her own tapping. After a while, Su Ping raised her head and observed the surroundings.

Su Ping's behavior made me very curious, but I just watched and didn't ask. It seemed like she found nothing unusual after that, Su Ping started walking around in this room.

Su Ping moved very carefully, afraid of making any noise. I saw Su Ping looking around every corner, as if she was searching for something.

After looking around in a circle, Su Ping's face was full of disappointment, and then she muttered to herself: "As expected, there's nothing."

"What are you looking for?" I asked.

  "What a lifesaving medicine!"

"How many life-saving medicines? Do you have someone to save too?" I curiously looked at her.

Seeing me ask like this, Su Ping smiled and said: "Yes, last time I entered the witch's house, it was because I knew there was a medicine that I needed, so I rushed in, even if you found out, I would admit it. Because I was afraid of missing it, and then being discovered by the witch, she would take it back, which would be bad. But this time, it seems that the medicine is gone, no wonder he didn't remind me..."

"This room doesn't have it, maybe the other room does! And how did you know there were medicine and stuff in the previous room for you to go get? Was someone telling you? And that last sentence you said, who reminded you of it?" Su Ping's words suddenly made me tense up.

As I asked this, Su Ping threw me a very evil and charming smile, followed by her opening her mouth to laugh at me: "Only this room has it, as for how I knew there would be the medicine I need here...it's because someone reminded me that they want to help me save the person I want to save. In short, there is also someone supporting me from behind, do you still remember the black-clothed person who came out of the witch's room?"

"Black-clothed man? Are you saying... the medicine last time was placed here by him? Are you in cahoots?! Did he also tell you how to smoothly enter the witch's room?!" As soon as Su Ping mentioned the black-clothed man, I suddenly had an epiphany.

As I guessed, Su Ping smiled and said: "We're not in the same group, we just take what we need for our own benefit. The old witch thinks I'm her subordinate, thinking I'll be used by her, but she doesn't know that the sturdy nail beside her has slowly come loose and is ready to stab its sharp point at her!"

Su Ping's words, although not explicitly stated, were enough to reveal her intentions. Regardless of whether Su Ping and the black-clad person are in cahoots or not, at least it proves that they are cooperating. Su Ping knew how to enter the room and obtain the so-called life-saving medicine, which must have been told to her by the black-clad person. It's possible that the black-clad person knows where Han Jingjing is being hidden, and then told Su Ping, who in turn told me, making it seem like she really knew Han Jingjing's whereabouts!

Just as I was starting to get lost in thought, Su Ping stopped me and said: "Alright, I know you have a lot on your mind right now, but just put it aside for the time being. Since I brought you in, let's go take a look around room by room!"

I nodded in agreement when Su Ping said that. Then, Su Ping took me to walk around room by room.

I found that every time Su Ping took me into a room, she would make some strange movements, as if she was guarding against something. Moreover, I also heard some rustling sounds in some hidden corners.

In the rooms of the old witch, apart from some jars and some herbs, there was nothing else. I had originally hoped to find that old book that Han Feiyan wanted, but after searching around, not only did I not see a single book, I didn't even see a piece of paper.

After Su Ping took me to all the rooms of various sizes, the only one we didn't enter was the one on the far left inside. After that, Su Ping wanted to take me out of this house.

As I saw her wanting to take me away, I couldn't help but curiously ask: "Why don't you bring me to see the innermost part?"

Seeing me ask this, Su Ping's expression on her face instantly froze, and then she spoke to me in a low tone.

"The man in black told me that room is not to be seen, if you see it, you will... die!"
