Chapter 69: Carrying the Tyrant Down

I saw the witch's face with scars that were slightly glowing with blood light, and it seemed to be crawling.

Seeing this situation, I thought my eyes were blurred, then I rubbed my eyes and looked again carefully. After careful observation, I found that the wriggling scar on the witch's face was no longer moving, and the faint red light that had just appeared was gone.

The scene in front of me changed suddenly, leaving me stunned. I thought to myself, could it be that I really saw things wrongly just now? But thinking carefully, the scene earlier was so real.

Just as I was pondering the scar on the witch's face, I saw the witch lead the man in black into the room. As for that guy, he stood guard outside.

After the witch walked in, I patiently observed from outside, eating the dry oil cakes I brought when I was hungry, and drinking water from a small ditch in the grass thicket when I was thirsty. If I really couldn't stand it, I would lie down in the grass thicket and take a nap. After squatting for three days, I was getting a bit unbearable.

Looking at the remaining half piece of oil cake and my somewhat dispirited spirit, I felt like giving up. But just as I was about to give up, that afternoon, I finally saw a change.

That afternoon, the witch took her husband out. The direction they went was in the village. In the village, the witch first went to Han Feiyan's home, then went to several other homes one after another, and finally went to Su Ping's home.

I feel that the witch stayed in Su Ping's home for the longest time. After the witch left Su Ping's home, she took Hans with her and went back.

On this tracking road, I am especially careful. Although I know that with my silly girl image, even if the witch sees me, she can't do anything to me, but I still try not to let her discover me as much as possible.

After the witch brought her husband back to their house, I found that not long after, the man came out of the witch's room again. This time, however, it was a man who could blink his eyes. It seemed that the black-clad person had come out, and the real husband had probably returned to the house to rest.

After this man in black replaced that guy and came out, I saw him wandering around. Just like that, it was already midnight.

Around two o'clock in the morning, the black-clad man guarding the door returned to the room, and then the real man came out again. However, this time he didn't appear alone, but also brought out that witch with a cane.

At the door, the old witch specially instructed the man in black for a while, and then took Hanzi into the village.

I saw the old witch and her husband going out at 2 or 3 in the morning, I felt suspicious. Although I'm extremely sleepy now, I know that I must be highly alert at this moment, it might be my only chance after all.

After I followed the witch secretly and arrived at the village, I found that the witch first made two rounds in various places in the village, as if she was inspecting something.

After the old witch had turned twice, she took her husband and walked towards the back mountain of the village.

I saw the witch leading her husband towards the back mountain of the village, and I felt that something was not quite right. To be honest, except for the tomb on the back mountain, there is no other place to go. Is the witch going to the tomb? Or... is the tomb the witch's backyard?!

I thought of the mountain tomb as possibly being the witch's backyard, and I became somewhat uneasy. Using a dead person's graveyard as one's own backyard is indeed unimaginable, but this is also too cruel...

After I followed the witch to the Zuo Shan Fen, I saw that she didn't stop at any other grave, but went straight to the last row of graves.

As far as I know, the innermost row of graves are all old women who were kidnapped to this village with Han Feiyan and died early.

When they arrived at this row of graves, in front of the fourth grave from left to right, the witch stopped.

I saw the old witch come to this grave, and after she sat down, she started muttering some words in her mouth, as if chatting with the dead person inside.

To know, in the middle of the night, you see an old woman talking to a grave, what kind of state or experience is that? It's estimated that it would scare someone to death.

I saw the old witch over there talking, as if chatting with this tomb, and with the night's atmosphere, the wind blowing gently, I was so scared that my legs were trembling. However, in my heart, I kept telling myself that these weren't a big deal, as long as I was brave enough, bold enough, and didn't scare myself, nothing terrible would happen. Maybe the old witch was chatting with her so-called "old friends", after all, she wouldn't be talking to ghosts...

Because we were separated by a distance, I couldn't hear what she was saying. But because the moon is full tonight, I could vaguely see that the expression on the witch's face seemed to be very happy and delighted, and while speaking, she also touched the stone monument in front of the tomb.

I took a look and it seems that only this row of graves in the innermost part of the mountain has stone monuments.

After saying enough to the tomb, the witch finally stood up, followed by two light coughs, and then tapped the ground twice with her cane. After doing all this, I saw that the man's dull eyes beside the witch suddenly lit up!

Yes! It was just a flash, I couldn't see it during the day, but at night, after the witch finished that set of movements, his eyes indeed flashed for a moment. However, after flashing for a moment, they quickly dimmed again.

Then I saw a strange movement. The man actually started twisting the stone monument in front of the tomb with his bare hands.

Under the strong twist of Hanzi, I saw from afar that the stone monument was actually twisted and turned. As the stone monument rotated, it suddenly rose upwards at this moment. When the entire stone monument had been twisted 180 degrees by Hanzi, it also rose to a relatively high position, and then I saw an astonishing scene.

Because the full moon was hanging in the sky, I could clearly see that under this stone monument, a giant stone turtle appeared, and that man stood on top of the turtle with his hands around the monument.

Although it looks like a stone turtle, but compared to ordinary turtles, its mouth has extremely sharp teeth. The stone turtle is carrying a stele on its back, and it seems to be struggling to move forward with its head raised, its four legs desperately propping itself up, as if it's struggling to crawl forward, yet unable to move at all.

Under this ordinary-looking stone monument, how could such a huge stone turtle be hidden? Seeing this scene, I really felt beyond comprehension.

After seeing the stone turtle under this stele, I suddenly remembered a story that an old man from my hometown told me. Suddenly, I realized what I was looking at was called "Ba Xia Dao Zhe".

"Ba Xia Gu is a very particular thing, if you want to talk about what's particular, it has to start from the origin of Shi Gui!"

My old fellow villager once told me that legend has it that the Dragon had nine sons, each of whom was different from one another. The sixth son is called Bixi (also known as Ba Xia), which resembles a tortoise and is fond of carrying heavy loads with its immense strength. The stone tortoises under the pedestals are said to be its images. This stone tortoise in front of me now should also be an embodiment of Pixiu.

Legend has it that in ancient times, the tortoise often carried three mountains and five peaks on its back, stirring up winds and waves in rivers, lakes, and seas. Later, when Yu the Great controlled the floodwaters, he subdued the tortoise, which obeyed his commands to push mountains and dig ditches, dredging river channels and contributing to the control of the waters. After the floodwaters were brought under control, Yu feared that the tortoise would again run wild everywhere, so he had a gigantic stone monument erected, inscribed with the tortoise's achievements in controlling the floodwaters. This is what I meant by "the tortoise carrying" earlier; from then on, the heavy stone monument weighed it down and prevented it from moving about freely.

Baxia and turtles are very similar, Baxia is commonly known as stone turtle in folk, it is a symbol of longevity and auspiciousness. In ancient times, the base of some people's tombstones with merits or prominent status were all carried by Baxia, which can be seen in stele forests and some ancient ruins.

Since I saw that the stone monument was being trampled underfoot, doesn't it mean that the owner of the tomb also had some remarkable achievements? Or to say that their identity is not ordinary? Worth being trampled underfoot? I couldn't help but wonder about the identity of the tomb's owner.

Just as I was wondering about this, something even more bizarre happened. I saw the witch next put her hand into the stone turtle's mouth and then seemed to be twisting something inside. After the witch had twisted for a while, that huge stone turtle actually came to life!
