Arriving in their room, Trimur felt relieved. Even though he had conspired for worse but he actually got a D+ Rank. Just as he was to sit down something hit him in the face.

  “So Johan, what are your stats? What abilities did you get?”

  Remembering Bahamut’s words, Johan decided to not include the second system and only told him about his normal stats.

  “I said that my Rank is B- and my ability is a B Rank Aether Mage.”

  Baffled, Thimaeuss von Parseval took a step back.

  “What the f#ck??! Are you kidding me? A B Rank newbie Ranker?”

  For a second the patriarch stood in awe but then gathered himself up.

  “Well,”, with a smirk he said:” this much should be expected from my grandson.”

  Satisfaction could be read on his face.

  “Anyways, Johan from now on you will go to a Ranker’s Academy. The ‘Academia of Euros’. It’s the West’s best academy and also the one your parents and siblings went to. Not only will you learn about your talents there but also will there be other Rankers and people from all over Eil, our world. Euros Academy is ranked number three in the entire world and not only that but also five of the Top Twenty newbie Rankers are there. One of them is also from the von Parseval family.”

  Proudly, the patriarch gave Johan an introduction to Euros Academy.

  “That sounds impressive, but Lord von Parseval, why am I getting all of this information now? It seemed like the other Rankers knew about the ceremony.”

  Scratching his face and with guilt written all over his face, he admitted to the reason why nobody told them anything about the world.

  “Well, admittedly we did it for your and Marie’s sake. An incident which occurred around ten years ago has led to many catastrophes in the Germanic area. Countless families have been endangered since then.”

  “Is that also the reason why brother…”

  “Yes, it is. But to that more when the time is right. Don’t worry about these things right now. Just focus on your studies and get stronger first. Everything else comes later.”

  Johan nodded. He knew what his grandfather was saying had truth to it. He probably couldn’t doo much himself anyways. If a family like his had problems than that meant he himself was way to weak ti make any difference. That was, if he went with the official narrative. Nobody other than him and Bahamut knew about the second system. And if what Bahamut told hom was true then he could become incredibly strong very soon.

  “Also Lord von Parseval, why is the family crystal broken?”

  “You can call me grandfather from now on. It’s not like I’m going to be hidden from now on. Same incident led to the crystal weakening. Back then I didn’t notice anything but a while ago cracks started to appear.”

  Johan could see the concern in his eyes.

  “I see. Well, I'm a bit exhausted so I’ll take a nap for now. I’m sure Marie is also wondering where I am.”

  ‘Aether Mage. Bahamut, do you know anything more about this ability?’

  ‘I see. So it has its pros and cons just like everything. What about the system being unstable?’

  ‘What? A higher Rank to unlock this information. Well, that’s gonna be a pain in the ass. I have to level up as soon as possible. Anyways, let’s check the other system now. ’

  Looking at his second system Johan realised that these stats not only outnumbered the normal systems stats but also offered three abilities.

  Johan almost shrieked up.

  ‘Don’t just start talking out of nowhere! I almost pissed my pants.’

  Johan nodded.

  ‘What do you think about the abilities of the Golden Light system?’

  ‘Wait, how do you know that?’

  ‘That would make sense, hence he left the crustal for me. But why didn’t he take it for himself? He could have perhaps survived with your help.’

  ‘Bearer of Light is a S Rank ability. That seems pretty high. What is the maximum Rank somebody can get?’

  ‘Family leader level ability?! This is way beyond what I expected. This changes things a lot more than I thought. Wait, do you know about grandfather's Rank?’
