Samba nodded, his Chinese wasn't bad, but he still paused for a moment, as if organizing his words. After a brief moment, he said: "Actually, this story isn't anything major, I also heard it from the elderly Ah-ma."
In the legend of the Tibetan people about Kula Jie, there is a story that is said to be around the Western Zhou Dynasty. The specific time has been lost to history, but at that time, everything east of Qinghai was called Hua Wai, and although there were many ethnic groups, there were very few people. To the east, it extended to the Kunlun Mountains, which was a sacred place in the hearts of the Tibetan people.
At that time, not only was the Central Plains inland war-torn, but also the distant border areas were divided by various forces. The leading Sima today you fight me, tomorrow he destroyed you, the life of the Tibetan people is very hard.
At that time, the two most powerful men were Dainzhub Tsering and Shoton. The two armies fought fiercely. Dainzhub Tsering's father was the previous leader of Tibet, with great power, but Dainzhub Tsering was arrogant and cruel, and the Tibetan people secretly supported the kind-hearted Shoton. However, in the end, Shoton failed, his army was not strong enough, and he was forced to retreat deep into the snowy mountains, which is where we will be heading next.
In Tibetan legend, the depths of the snow-capped mountains are the domain of Kula Jiegei, where millions of years of accumulated ice and frost have caused animals to become extinct and plants to disappear, making it impossible for anyone to survive inside. Kula Jiegei occupies the entire Kunlun Mountains, and unless humans receive his recognition, neither humans nor animals can escape being frozen or starved to death within.
The people and horses of Songda La were forced to retreat deep into the snowy mountains, and Gan Zanba organized his troops to guard the roads at the foot of the mountain, preparing to trap the Songda La army inside.
They guarded for over ten days, and some Tibetans couldn't sit still. They had always hoped that the Songda people could be unified and did not want to let the cruel Ganzaba rule them. So the Tibetans secretly gathered together to discuss, they decided to gather some grain and fodder, find the strongest men in the tribe, form a secret transportation team, and transport the grain and fodder to the Songda people trapped deep in the snowy mountains.
On the eve of departure, nine Khampa men toasted to Kurrajee's direction in the dark, hoping to get his understanding and let them enter the snowy mountains.
Kurrajie, of course, did not show up, they completed the ceremony and secretly ventured into the snowy mountains, but the entire mountain was guarded, and these nine men were still discovered. In the struggle that followed, everyone was stabbed and became bloody, the Tibetans rioted, regardless of whether they were young and strong warriors or old and weak women and children, they rushed out of the darkness and clashed with the soldiers guarding the snowy mountains.
Those nine men, covered in blood all over their bodies, carried food and ventured into the deep mountains. They never came back after that.
Everyone thought that the nine men could not complete their task because they were too seriously injured, with some wounds so deep you could see bone and others where internal organs were visible. How could such injuries be survived in the icy snow?
The incident did not stop here, and the Tibetan rioters were almost wiped out that night, leaving only a few people hiding in the desolate highlands to survive secretly. In the following years, Tibetans lived in a state of simmering unrest, with frequent uprisings against the oppressive rule of Galdan Tseren, but his troops were very brave and all rebellions were suppressed.
But just when everyone felt hopeless.
On a night, an army suddenly emerged from the depths of Snow Mountain. They were dressed in fine equipment, covered in iron armor all over their bodies, and even their faces were hidden under helmets. This army was led by nine people, and the leader of these nine people was none other than Sundara!
And at this time, it had been a whole ten years since the Songda people entered the snowy mountains!
That team, no one spoke up, nor did anyone have any extra movements. They wore armor and held long spears, silently appearing on the snowy plain like a group of dark spirits.
Then, Songdara led nine subordinates and brought this army like a dark spirit to thoroughly defeat Gan Zanba.
The Tibetans thought it was a miracle, if not for the blessing of Guru Padmasambhava, how could the Songzan people survive in the vast snowy mountains? How did that invincible army appear?
In the following days, Songdara became the ruler of Tibet. The people lived a gradually stable life under his rule. However, Songdara was very strange; he always wore a ghost mask and never showed his true face to anyone.
It wasn't until decades later that a strange plague broke out across the entire Tibetan region. Perhaps it shouldn't be called a plague, but rather a divine punishment, because on some people's chests, a strange pattern appeared. What exactly this pattern looked like, Sangba couldn't describe, after all, this legend was too far away, with many different versions, and no one could judge.
But in the end, all Tibetans with the pattern on their bodies mysteriously disappeared.
A panic never seen before spread among the Tibetans, and a group of remnants of Gan Zanba began to spread rumors that Songdala should have died long ago, but he traded with Kulajie using Tibetan lives, and Songdala gained the same ability as Kulajie. The way to break this ability is to remove the mask from Songdala's face.
Rumors spread far and wide, under the pressure of public opinion, Songzan Gambo and his nine bodyguards were once again forced to the foot of the snowy mountains. An elderly Tibetan, with tears in his eyes, begged: "Respected Songzan Gambo, we only need to take a look at your face, please remove your mask and prove your innocence."
Finally, Songdara slowly put his hand on the mask and took it off. The Tibetans saw... Kula's face.
Kuladeva, wolf-headed and human-bodied.
The story goes that Samba said, "There are Tibetans who say that Guru Rinpoche was invited by the king of Zahor to bring his army to help the Tibetans. However, if he is seen by ordinary people, he must return to the snowy mountains."
The Sandara people fell to the ground and died as soon as they took off their masks. In his last moment, he dictated a will, ordering nine guards to carry him back to his birthplace, and on that will, he recorded the experience of the Sandara people in the snowy mountains.
That handwritten scripture is called "Zan Sheng Jing" by Tibetans.
At that time, there were other Tibetans present, who said that the Zan Sheng Jing recorded a palace where the Songda people saw Khora Jie and made an exchange to obtain his abilities.
It is said that the entrance to this palace is a huge gate, and only those who have been recognized by Kurrajie can enter. After Samba finished speaking, he pointed to the gate on the map and said: "If you want to go to that place, I advise you to give up. Kurrajie is the guardian deity of the Tibetans and will not let Han people in. If you force your way in, you will definitely not be able to come out. There are no animals, no plants, nothing at all inside, and humans cannot survive there."
I didn't understand Samba's words, but was thinking about this so-called Kuradze.
In the mountain worship of Tibetan people, there are four great divine mountains. The most famous one is Nyainqentanglha, known as the God of Grassland, which is said to be in charge of the universe, with "Yu" referring to time and "Zhou" referring to space, so Nyainqentanglha is the god of time and space.
Khurajdzi is one of the four great mountain gods and is revered as a god of fertility, governing longevity.
Is the so-called Kula Dege's ability referring to the ability of longevity? I put these points together and suddenly feel that this trip to Qinghai is not in vain. In the legend of Samba about sending troops, a mysterious and strange army appeared, which coincidentally has some similarities with the legend of King Lu borrowing ghost soldiers. So, did the Tsenda people also have a Ghost Seal?
Where did this ghost seal come from and where did it finally end up?
According to the notes of Huo Lao Tai, in the Kunlun Mountains, there is a heavenly coffin in which a ghost seal is buried. Is this ghost seal the same as the one possessed by Songdala people?
Thinking of this, I couldn't help but feel a shock in my heart. The background era of this story is unknown, and the era in He Lao's notes is also unknown. So, did the ghost seal that Songdala people obtained after entering the snowy mountain mean that the ghost seal in the Tianyuan coffin had already disappeared? And what about the thing that San Shu and Chen Wenjin were looking for, does it still exist within?
If Gui Xian existed after Song Da La Ren, then what about the so-called Tian Yuan coffin, isn't it the tomb of Song Da La Ren?
The three of us didn't say a word, and Xiaohua obviously thought of this too. He narrowed his eyes slightly, looked at the map, and then said to us: "It's meaningless to think about these things now, we'll know when we get there."
Passerby A hugged his hands and slowly walked into the cave, outside was snowing heavily, it's very cold. I saw Sanba looked a bit dazed, so I patted his shoulder and said: "Let's go inside the cave, or you'll get sick."
Samba followed me with his head hung low, the cave was crowded with people, Mao DeGui glared at me fiercely, his eyes were very menacing, but I, Wu Xie, am not a soft persimmon to be bullied by anyone, so I immediately glared back at him, he coldly smiled and curled up the corner of his mouth, then whispered something to his four brothers.
Everyone on this road was very quiet, and those men were not friendly to me either. They surrounded each other, whispering, almost in earshot, making me suspect that they might be planning to get rid of me while I'm sleeping. Passerby A didn't say a word either, except for being close to Xiaohua, he didn't have much to say to Xiuxiu, let alone me. Just as I was thinking, a voice suddenly came from the cave: "Turtle, come over."
I was stunned for a moment, then reacted and scolded in a bad temper: "You're the turtle!" Passerby A's mouth moved slightly, coldly spitting out three words: "Roll over." I didn't bother to pay attention to him, leaning against my hands like an oil bottle and cave top exchanging feelings. Just as we were halfway through our exchange, something whizzed past my ear, scaring me so much that I jumped up in fright. Hurriedly turning my head back, on the mountain wall beside my ear, a shiny dagger was actually stuck in it.
