With that, Selene waved to everyone and left the room. This woman matched what I imagined a Greek goddess to be. She is graceful, aloof, and intimidating, which makes it even weirder that she is my Moon Grandma. Selene speaks in riddles and only alludes to what she is trying to say. I wonder what my mom would have done if it was her instead of me doing this. I feel like she could have handled this better than I have.
Felicity came and sat next to me. Looking at her, I could see the bags under her eyes and the stress weighing on her shoulder. Her blonde hair seemed deflated even though it was tied up into a messy bun. Her skin seemed pale and dry. This wolf vision allowed me to see details that are hard to pick up on otherwise. My friend thrives on controlling and solving issues that she encounters. She must be drowning in this situation where magic is dictating our day-to-day lives. Maybe, she should go back to the States…
“Fe, do you want to go home? This world that we walked into a few days ago doesn’t have to take over your life like it is mine. I know Marcus and your parents must be worried since it’s hard to connect with anyone from these caves. You need to take care of yourself-”
“Ugh. Kori, stop.” Fe groaned. “Just because I am not a magical creature doesn’t mean that I can’t live in this mythical world with you. Sure, I could use some sleep and sun, but I refuse to leave you unless you make me go.”
Damn. My best friend is awesome. “Okay, I won’t push. You can stay with me.”
“Damn right, I am staying. You would drown in this magic crap without me.” Fe crossed her arms and smirked.
“Really, Fe?”

“Yep.” She popped the ‘P’ loudly. “Now, tell me about this wolf of yours.”
Well, that’s Fe. She is always stubborn. “The wolf? Well, she’s beautiful. She is all black with a crescent moon on her shoulder.”
“Just like you.” Fe chimed in.
“Yeah. She became the leader of her small pack recently. I am not sure I understand everything, but she lost her parents and her mate not long ago. She mourns her loved ones at least once a day.” The black wolf of my dreams is a free spirit that has loved deeply.
“How do you know that?” Fe questioned.
How do I explain this? “Umm. Well, when I dream of her, I become her. I watch her make decisions and feel her emotions. It’s weird.”
“So, you become this black wolf in your dreams. Hmm. I wonder if it will be like that when you two become one. Two beings in one form.” Felicity hummed.
“Yep. It’s all because of the trial and instinct that we will need to become one. Although she doesn't seem to need me like I need her right now. She has a pack to provide for, so I don’t know what will happen to them. I don’t think she will want to abandon them though.” My thoughts just flowed out of my mouth.
Felicity was quiet as she digested my words. I knew there was gravity to what I was saying because I realized I wouldn’t be able to just go back to my life when this was over. The black wolf has a life that can’t be ignored just because I am human. Right now, I don’t know what will happen with school or where this wolf even lives. Everything will just have to be dealt with one step at a time.
“I am not going anywhere,” Felicity stated. “Wherever you go, I will too. I will do school online if that’s what you are worried about. I am your family, and I refuse to abandon you on your journey.”
I sighed. Felicity is stubborn. “Fine.”
“Good. Now, you’ve got a book to read. We need to be as prepared as possible.” Fe stood up. “I am going to go get some sun, and I will check on you in a bit.”
“Yeah. I will get to reading.” I replied as I reached for the book next to me. Fe disappeared out the door leaving only Healer Min who wanted to run some tests on me to ensure I was healthy. She gathered her results and left me to read my book.
Untying the leather straps keeping the book closed, I felt my heart race a little bit. I had a feeling that something might happen once the book officially opened. I lifted the cover revealing a silver wolf on the first page. The wolf started to stand and move, which made me slam the cover closed. “What the hell was that!” I immediately covered my ears because my outburst hurt my ears. “Ugh. This is bullshit.” I whisper to myself.
Open the book, Korinne. A voice commanded me, which caused me to leap off the bed. Stupid moon magic.
