Chapter Eighteen: Corpse-Eating Demon Slave

He was starving, but Tong Dun suddenly didn't feel uncomfortable anymore, only to start feeling thirsty again. He endured it and continued searching the room. As soon as he opened the door, he saw through the gap that the ceiling was covered with spider webs, and a black blood spider was lying on top of it.

Tang Dun turned around and ran, while taking out a piece of magic stone to extract magic energy. Otherwise, with the current empty magic state against the Black Blood Spider, it would be a dead end.

The black blood spider shrieked and crashed into the door, bursting out of it. However, after chasing halfway down the corridor, it suddenly retreated back inside.

"What's going on?" Tang Don stood at the stairs, looking stunned.

"They're not beasts, they're spiders! Of course, they hunt with webs!" Holma tapped on Tangdon's head, "But you reacted really quickly."

"It's better to be slow-witted, my magic stone! " Tang Dun was heartbroken, he had been saving up his magic stones to open the transmission gate, but it ended up being a meaningless waste.

"This can't go on like this, I'll just absorb the magic drill." Holma said fiercely, "Anyway, there are nine of them, enough to squander."

"Isn't the magical energy they stored enough to open the transmission gate?" Tang suddenly remembered a magic drill, but it required at least 10,000 magic stones, and he quickly wrote to inquire.

"The amount is too small, and the nodes are also part of the magic circle, which must be filled with magic stones to connect, in order to activate the transmission gate." Holma's professional knowledge was beyond doubt.

"The Alchemist is indeed the most profitable profession, just being a mid-tier one can save up nine magic diamonds!" Tang Dong touched his pocket, feeling delighted, his current net worth was frighteningly high.

"It's also possible that it was stolen, don't forget that precious medicine formula, maybe that guy robbed his mentor's treasury!" Holma projected the text, outlining a story.

"I didn't know you had a talent for writing!" Tang Dun teased, "If it's written into a book, I reckon it'll be a bestseller!"

"Hmph, I am Lord Horma!" Madain naturally accepted the praise.

Although it was painful, Tandon still started to extract magic energy from the Magic Drill. He had to find enough magic stones or food to leave before he became too hungry to move.

A ghoul wandered into view, Tandon released the vengeful spirit's confession, but unfortunately a golden arrow pierced through its chest and it failed once again!

Dunton knocked down the ghoul and continued to drag the torn dragon tooth in search of a target.

Half an hour later, Downton slipped into a guest room for rest.

"Eight consecutive losses, I have to say, your luck is really terrible!" Holma sighed.

"I don't believe it, come on!" Tong Dun replenished his magic and charged out again. Although he kept failing, his combat experience was accumulating more and more.

Having escaped from a low-ranking ghoul's pursuit, Tong Don encountered an ordinary one on the third floor.

  "Let's go!"

With his left hand holding a longbow and his right hand drawing the bowstring, Tang Don muttered to himself as he shot at the Corpse Eater.

The golden arrow hit the ghoul's head, and Tandon didn't hold out much hope, hastily gripping his battle-axe, ready to fight, only to find that the creature that had been shot stopped in its tracks.

This time, the golden arrow did not pass through, after shooting into the brain, suddenly a brilliant light burst forth, and a female angel composed of white light spots suddenly appeared, closing her eyes and chanting hymns!

Under the faint sacred mantra, the ghouls begin to atone for their lifetime of sin!

"It's done!" Holma exclaimed with glee, "It is now your servant, you can command it with your soul power and drive it!"

"Come here!" Looking at the ghoul standing in front of him without a hint of hostility, Tang Don couldn't help but want to burst out laughing.

"It's too dirty, let's just find a set of armor and wrap it up. Hmm, why didn't I think of this before?" Tang Don thought the Corpse Eater was too ugly and needed to be packaged, making it easier to take out, but then he had an epiphany and came up with a way to increase its combat strength.

"What's wrong?" Holma saw Tong Dun staring blankly, puzzled.

"I can put armor on the ghouls and give them a weapon, won't their combat strength increase?" Tong Dun hastily wrote to ask about the feasibility.

"Armor is fine, but ghouls won't use weapons unless they have wisdom. But even if that undead creature had wisdom, you still can't atone for it." Holma didn't think much of this plan. "Ghouls without advancement are too weak, you can just kill them with one slash!"

"No, put them in full heavy armor, after all, the ghouls don't get tired and the weapons aren't like swords and battle-axes that require skill? Just attach steel claws and they'll be fine, their attack methods are clawing and tearing anyway!" As he spoke, Tang Dong's thoughts became clearer.

"Wearing heavy armor will slow them down." Holma emphasized, "And they are really too weak, killing a mage is too difficult!"

"Don't worry about being slow, they can be meat shields, let me take the main attack!" Tang Dun perfected his tactics, "Don't forget, they are the most elite cannon fodder troops of the undead tribe, never fearing death!"

"It seems feasible, but the Corpse Eater Legion relies on human wave tactics. You're alone, and the enemy can completely bypass it and attack you directly!" Holma pointed out the shortcomings with her abundant experience and insight.

"Then let's have another dozen, many ants can kill an elephant! "Tang Dun's tone was bold and suddenly tense, asking, "How many Corpse Eaters can the Undead Confess?"

"With your current soul power, at most two, otherwise they will rebel, and the first one to be slaughtered will be you!" Holma was very familiar with Tang Dong's body.

"What? Still rebellious?" Tong Dun was startled. "Why didn't you say so earlier, isn't this like having a time bomb by your side?"

"Divine magic isn't omnipotent." Holma's sharp tongue lashed out, "You actually want a ghoul to serve you for the rest of its life? Are you a holy paladin of sacred light? You're even more evil than a lich!"

"In other words, the stronger one's soul power is, the more ghouls they can subdue, right?" Tandon knew that the most direct way to increase his soul power was to continuously advance in rank.

"Alright!" said Hormakor. "However, if you're going to summon a Ghoul at the first stage of repentance, you can only bring one, and the chances of it rebelling will increase dramatically."

"If I were to rise to the rank of Warlord, how many Death Knights could I bring?" Tang's eyes overflowed with anticipation.

"It depends on your growth, but it should be no less than fifteen!" Holma could only estimate and couldn't be certain, after all, who knew what would happen before the Tangdon promotion war?

"Fifteen unknown shields, clad in heavy armor from head to toe, charged at the enemy like a tide, surrounding and killing them. Just thinking about it is cool!" Danton burst out laughing, but quickly shut his mouth, if he attracted monsters, it would be a disaster.

Homa thought for a moment about the tactics of Tondon, and found that if he really wanted to do it, his combat power was not to be underestimated. He hadn't forgotten that this guy was now rich, and even if he were to buy a full set of high-grade heavy armor for the Corpse Eater, he could afford it.

"Come on, take it, from today on, you are Servant No. 1!"

Danton handed the battle-axe to the ghoul, who obediently hoisted it onto his back. Seeing this, Danton was very satisfied and reached out to pat him on the back in encouragement, but upon seeing the rotting flesh, he quickly stopped himself.

"Let's go, and catch another one. What's Robinson? Once we have an army of ghouls, we'll overwhelm him with sheer numbers!" Tongdon gritted his teeth, using the magic drill to replenish his magic energy. "Go, first let's flip over that black blood spider in the car!"

Danton was in high spirits, but ten minutes later he suffered a setback, and the Ghosts' confession failed.

"Attack!" Tongdon thought of trying out the Corpse Eater's effect and gave the command with his soul power.

My servant No. 1 is indeed powerful, directly pouncing on the undead creature rushing towards him, his sharp claws slapping its face, of course, due to their equal strength, No. 1's chest was also torn apart with flesh flying everywhere.

Dangton quickly called No. 1 back and personally took action, killing the monster in front of him. He didn't want to lose his newly recruited servant.

That extremely high failure rate is really frustrating, and I don't know how much magic power and time will be wasted if I try again.

Dongton brought No. 1 back to the top floor, and before they even started searching, they heard a faint complaining voice.

"This room has been ransacked, it must have been Duren!" Tony was furious. "I don't even know if anything valuable is missing!"

"Why not Tonton?" Pierre searched very carefully, without missing any spot.

"Hmph, that kid isn't even a magic user, and it's been almost two days since he was last seen. He's probably already dead in some ditch somewhere." Tony thought to himself, not thinking that Downton could survive.

"Haha, that's true, that unlucky kid must have become a ghoul's lunch." Pire sneered, walking towards the door. "Go to the next guest room, stop picking up those gold coins, there's nowhere to spend them anyway."

"Robinson's brain is really useful, let's search for luxury suites, and it's indeed correct." Tony tossed a magic stone with excitement, "That skeleton just now must be a big rich man, actually carrying thirty magic stones, what a lavish spending."

For Tandon, it's a perilous black blood spider, but Pyre and the others easily beheaded it, so they can search the suite without any worries.

"With Robinson's reserve, we're still short of more than sixty, and then there's the fine wine in the cellar. At least for a week, we don't have to worry about starving to death. In this time, we can definitely find enough magic stones." Tony looked forward to the future, "As long as we get out, we'll be rich men."

"Letting those two kids go earlier was a mistake, if the location of the underground city gets leaked out, it'll be disastrous. So before leaving, kill them first." Without outsiders around, Pire revealed his true nature.

"Isn't Robinson guarding the wine cellar? If they go to the backyard for food, they're done for." Tony teased his friend, "Don't worry, maybe they've already died."

"Come on, there's no chance," Holma consoled, worried that Tong Dun would think of something rash.

Downton nodded and quietly retreated down the stairs, but had only gone a few steps when he heard Tony's shout of surprise, followed by a loud rumbling sound.

"Run!" Pire yelled, his tense tone indicating they were in big trouble.

Downton accelerated immediately and rushed towards the third floor, he didn't want to be affected.

"What are you going to do?" Holma looked at Tanton's cracked lips, very worried. The conversation she had just overheard had blocked his last way out, and now he could only survive on his own.
