Chapter 161: National Socialist Party (6)

The Communist Youth League of China's "Tiger Team" with its somewhat terrorist-sounding name is about to take the stage in Chinese history.

Originally, according to Wang Zhenyu's intention, since it is a military led by the party, in essence, it is also a party guard army, so why not just call it a party guard army? But as soon as this was proposed, everyone felt that the name was too old-fashioned. The Youth Army is different, it looks energetic and youthful. So our General Wang retreated.

As soon as the announcement of personnel was heard, all the generals immediately sat up straight and cast their eyes on the file in Wang Zhenbang's hand. Even Wang Zhenbang, who was preparing to read out the order, felt a little nervous.

"Comrade Yang Wanguo as Chief of Staff of the General Staff Headquarters of the Flying Tiger Youth Army, Comrade Wan Yaohuang as Director of the Training Department of the Flying Tiger Youth Army, Comrade Ma Xicheng as Director of the Military Equipment Department of the Flying Tiger Youth Army, Comrade Song Haomin as Director of the Armed Mobilization Department of the Flying Tiger Youth Army, Comrade He Jian as Director of the Military Intelligence Bureau of the Flying Tiger Youth Army, and Comrade Yu Zuobai as Commander of the Military Police Corps of the Flying Tiger Youth Army (strictly speaking, belonging to the Internal Guard due to the lack of a constitution)"

This appointment is roughly nothing much in fact, whether it's Song Haomin or He Jian, especially Yu Zuobai, at most, they are just a division-level cadre, but their influence has already exceeded the scope of a division. Everyone can only express envy, especially He Jian's life, no one wants to take over.

Appoint Xu Yuanquan as the commander of the First Route Army of the Young Marshal's Tiger Troops, under which are the 1st Division, 5th Division and 6th Division.

Appoint Comrade Zhao Dongsheng as the commander of the 1st Regiment of the Young Vanguard Army and deputy army commander.

Appoint Comrade Tao Zongyue as Commander and Chief of Staff of the Fifth Division of the Iron Tiger Youth Army.

Appoint Comrade Li Honggui as the commander of the Sixth Division of the Iron Tiger Youth Army.

Appointed Liu Xing as the commander of the Second Army of the Young Tigers Youth Military, under which were the 2nd Division, 4th Division and 8th Division.

Comrade Dai Yue is appointed as the commander of the 2nd Regiment of the Young Vanguard Army and deputy army commander.

Appoint Comrade Liao Yue as the commander and chief of staff of the 4th Regiment of the Young Heroes of the Iron Blood Militia.

  Appoint Comrade Zhou Zhengming as the commander of the Eighth Division of the Flying Tiger Youth Army;

Comrade Li Zongren is appointed as the commander of the 3rd Army of the Tiger Youth Military, with jurisdiction over the 3rd and 7th Divisions.

Comrade Chen Yuxin is appointed as the commander of the 3rd Regiment of the Iron Tiger Youth Army.

Appoint Comrade Bai Chongxi as Commander and Chief of Staff of the 7th Division of the Young Marshal's Tiger Troops.

The appointment of the teacher is still not beyond everyone's expectation, but the establishment of three military units is quite unexpected. Because before that, no one had heard any news about it, not even a hint. The most regrettable thing for these generals is that the rank and salary system has been cancelled, and in the future, they will be tied to their duties.

Looking at the native place of the eight division commanders in this adjustment, six are from Hunan and two are from Guangxi. There is no military commander from other provinces, but there is one each from Guangdong, Hubei, and Henan. This has nothing to do with regional restrictions, but rather that among qualified officers, those from Hunan are the most numerous. It can't be helped who let the old foundation of the Xiang Army's youth military be the new army of Hunan 49th battalion. I estimate that in five or six years, the division commanders will be evenly divided among Guangxi, Hunan, and Hubei. The root cause is also here.

"The above comrades must continue to work hard for the revolutionary cause and another batch of reserve officers promotion list is announced:"

Appoint Comrade Zhang Xuguang as Chief of Staff of the 1st Division of the Flying Tiger Youth Army and Commander of the 101st Infantry Regiment.

Comrade Tang Hai Rong is appointed as Chief of Staff of the Second Corps of the Flying Tiger Youth Army and Commander of the 201st Infantry Regiment.

Appoint Comrade Li Pinxian as Chief of Staff of the 3rd Division of the Iron Tiger Youth Army and Commander of the 301st Infantry Regiment.

Comrade Liu Xuyi is appointed as Chief of Staff of the 4th Regiment of the Flying Tigers Youth Army and Commander of the 401st Infantry Battalion.

Appoint Comrade Cai Junxian as Chief of Staff of the Fifth Division of the Iron Tiger Youth Army and Commander of the 501st Infantry Regiment.

Comrade Zhu Cihang is appointed as Chief of Staff of the Sixth Division of the Mighty Youth Army and Commander of the 601st Infantry Regiment.

Comrade Liu Zhenhuan is appointed as Chief of Staff of the 7th Division of the Flying Tigers Youth Army and Commander of the 701st Infantry Regiment.

Comrade Chen Quzhen is appointed as Chief of Staff of the 8th Division of the Flying Tigers Youth Army and Commander of the 801st Infantry Regiment.

Actually, Wang Zhenyu had noticed the increasing number of non-Hunan team cadres on the list. For example, outside the list, there were Guangxi-born team leaders such as Xia Weiyue and Tao Jun, and even more Hubei-born ones: Hu Zongdeng, Yan Daogang, He Chengquan, Deng Yulin, Fang Benren... Some of them had failed in war and joined their own side, while others were introduced and recommended by Xu Yuanquan and Wan Yaohuang, fellow townspeople from Hubei.

The emergence of this situation is the inevitable result of the development of any force. You can't just rely on your hometown to create a big scene, so Wang Zhenyu thought deeply and knew that he still needed a lot of talent to develop. He didn't choose to brutally attack certain regional cadres, but instead dispersed them in a planned way. For example, except for Comrade Liu Zhenhuan, all the regimental commanders of Bai Chongxi's Seventh Division were non-Guangxi natives. Therefore, when assigning combat tasks, our Commander-in-Chief Bai still had to speak Mandarin and couldn't use Guangxi dialect to dismiss his subordinates.

At the same time, this promotion of team cadres also has its own characteristics. There are those who have been promoted based on their military achievements, and there are those who have been promoted based on their seniority. The appointment of Zhu Zhihan, Chen Quzhen and others as parachute cadres to serve as both the chief of staff and the commander of the main force team is also a measure to prevent the concentration of power in the hands of the division commanders and the emergence of warlordism within the troops. The system of only allowing political commissars and party representatives at the battalion and company levels was also designed to prevent the possibility that once the party seizes power, it will use the party representative system to hinder the transformation of the party army into a national defense force. On this point, Wang Zhenyu would rather lose everything than allow the bureaucratic class to ride roughshod over the people through the military. As he put it in his own crude words: "There's no reason for you to be corrupt and take bribes, to keep young mistresses, to be naked officials, and then let the common people spit on my corpse or grave. If that happens, I'll really have been wronged." If China cannot achieve a bloodless social transformation through elections in the future, Wang Zhenyu is determined to use the nationalization of the military to reduce the cost for the people to overthrow the reactionary government. As for whether others will engage in such despicable behavior, Wang Zhenyu doesn't know, but he himself still has some integrity and won't do it.

The following is the list of personnel composition of the Supervisory Office of the Imperial Guard:

Director of the Imperial Guard: Huang Shaokong; Deputy Director: Wang Zhenbang

Head of Room 1 (Secretariat) Wang Zhenbang (concurrently)

Head of Room 2 (Deputy Officer) Wang Chenhao

Head of Room 3 (Communications) Wang Huai Shi

Head of Room 4 (Political Affairs) Yan Daogang

Head of Room 5 (Military Affairs) He Chengjun

Wang Hu Ren, Commander of the Guard Battalion

The Imperial Guard Bureau, strictly speaking, is a deputy division-level unit. Therefore, the Deputy Director and the Directors of various departments are naturally regular army officers. With Wang Zhenyu's growing power and increasing status, the Imperial Guard Bureau has been upgraded from an initial information transmission department to a large management institution, also known as the "Small Inner Court". This point became even more apparent with the establishment of the 4th Room Political Section and the 5th Room Military Section.

The reform plan for military education institutions and personnel appointments is as follows: The existing Xiangxi Army Officer School will be renamed the Affiliated High School of the Army University. The Army University will start construction immediately and officially begin recruiting students in May 1914, with classes starting in August. The Director will personally serve as the President of the Army University, with three departments under it: Education Department, Teaching Staff Department, and Political Department. Comrade Wan Yaohuang will serve as the Head of Education, Xu Yuanquan as the Dean of Teaching Staff, and Chen Shao as the Director of the Political Department. The school term is three years, with six departments: Infantry Department, Cavalry Department, Intelligence Department, Political Department, Artillery Department, and Surveying Department (following Wang Zhenyu's idea, a Naval Department and an Aviation Department will be established in the future, and the department will be upgraded to a college).

"The following is a reading of the new standard for equipment and organization of each unit:"

  Standard Individual Equipment

Standard infantry squad: 1 squad leader, 2 deputy squad leaders, 3 first-class privates, and 4 privates, totaling 10 people.

Standard infantry squad equipment: Type 11 rifle (Hanyang-made) eight light machine guns one grenade launcher one individual equipment hand grenades six to eight engineer shovels one or cross pickaxe one

A standard infantry company has five standard infantry platoons, with one company commander and one deputy company commander, totaling 52 people.

A standard infantry company has three standard infantry platoons, one company commander, one deputy company commander, one party representative, one clerk, and is also equipped with a six-person cooking squad, a six-person health team, and a four-person messenger squad, totaling 175 people.

A standard infantry battalion has a heavy machine gun company (two heavy machine guns) and a mortar company (five mortars).

A standard infantry regiment has five standard infantry battalions, one regiment commander, one deputy regiment commander, one regiment chief of staff, one political instructor and three clerks, two adjutants, a 15-man direct-affiliated medical team, a 10-man direct-affiliated guard platoon, and a 10-man direct-affiliated communications squad, totaling 919 people.

A standard infantry regiment was assigned a heavy machine gun company (eight heavy machine guns) and a mortar company (twenty mortars).

A standard infantry division has three standard infantry regiments, one division commander, one deputy division commander, one chief of staff, three logistics officers, three combat officers, three staff officers, three secretarial officers, three intelligence officers, a six-man communications platoon, a ten-man messenger platoon, a directly affiliated guard company, a directly affiliated logistics support battalion, a directly affiliated engineer battalion, a thirty-man field hospital, and a hundred-man mortar battalion (fifty 60-caliber mortars), totaling 3,323 people.

A standard infantry division has four standard infantry regiments, with one division commander, one deputy division commander (not necessarily a permanent position, and may be concurrently held), one chief of staff (may be concurrently held), thirty various staff officers. The division headquarters directly controls the reconnaissance company, special operations company, guard company, fifty-person communications company, logistics support battalion, engineer battalion, hundred-person field hospital, five-hundred person mountain artillery regiment (with fifty mountain guns). In total, there are 16,338 people. Additionally, for combat cycles exceeding one week, approximately four thousand civilian laborers will be equipped to cooperate in the fighting.

Xu Yuanquan and Yang Wanguang exchanged a glance, smiled at Ma Xicheng, and said: "Although the troops don't need to be replenished, but equipment is something that can't be missing. Let's count it as consumption during training. Our military supplies department has work to do."

Ma Xi remained silent as usual, just nodding his head in respect and acquiescence.

Li Zongren was excited and said to Wan Yaohuang sitting next to him: "If such a configuration can really be achieved, as long as we train our troops well, even if the Beiyang army sends one division to fight against our one division, they will still suffer greatly."

Wang Zhenyu heard this and immediately responded, "It's not enough to just train the soldiers well, we also need to implement the setup of political commissars in the regiment. Chen Shao, you need to coordinate with Old Yang here, don't look down on this political ideology, let the soldiers know why they are fighting and for whom they are fighting. It's better to rely on solid reasoning than to just throw twice as much money at them to boost morale. I've said a lot, but the key is to see it implemented, scattered meetings won't work."
