The final preparations are almost completed. Soon, his name will be known across the world, powerful people will flock to him, be they other pyers or simply locals who have surpassed the boundaries which limited the rest of the popuce. Dragon Lords are something that Antikythera is wary of, but since they kept to themselves, the Automaton assumed that he would not be encountering them unless provoked or something major happens outside of their territory.
Him selling weaponry far too advanced for this world's current technological state is not worthy enough to attract their attention. This, Antikythera knew well.
Lord Ainz has been searching for items which have naturally magical properties. They are simir to the items Nazarick possesses but at the same time, possess enough of a difference to attract the attention of their Lord. For one, the Automaton did not see the need for them to acquire the knowledge to forge these weapons but perhaps Lord Ainz saw it differently than he did.
It is true that locally sourced magical items mean that Nazarick can be independent from the methodology they used back in the nine realms, but this problem isn't so major that they needed to do a global search in order to get their hands on a runeforge item.
But then again, they have been cut off from the nine realms — potentially forever even — so it is a good idea to find a way to make powerful items using the ideas of the people who have lived in this world.
Reverse engineering runeforge items seems rather easy as well, but maybe Antikythera was overestimating himself on that front. After all, Lord Ainz himself has stated that the sword which Gazef — Re-Estize's knight-captain — wields is powerful enough to damage himself as well as the floor guardians despite their innate resistances.
Beyond that, Antikythera wasn't interested, as he too had items that can damage individuals with the same strength as him. In fact, given the right materials, Antikythera can make something simir to the sword Gazef uses, so to him, it is no more special than the guns he is outsourcing to Renner and Eight Fingers.
Speaking of Eight Fingers, the criminal organization has been developing well under his command. Most of their operations were rather obsolete, their sve trade especially. Antikythera saw no use for it as Lord Ainz stated that organics were simply inefficient when powering his future factories. He is pnning on dismantling that division soon and repcing it with a new one, but that pn will have to wait.
Hilma, on the other hand, has been making rounds across the kingdom. She has been buying buildings left and right in order to create the series of branded apothecaries which Antikythera has tasked her to establish. A single title given to buildings that sell potions known for their high quality would soon become a household name across Re-Estize; afterwards, inserting chemicals into the popuce shouldn't be too hard.
What chemicals these are, Antikythera is still unsure. The pn, while vast, is yet to go that far into the future. This is merely reassurance that should the need for them to start striking the mind of Re-Estize's citizens arise, Nazarick is ready to pump them full of mind-altering substances which will help Lord Ainz's cause.
Hm. Maybe he should even tell Hilma to add certain quantities of serotonin into the medicines they sell in E-Rantel in order to make Nazarick's hold of it much easier? Lord Ainz has shown interest in taking the city for himself, and Antikythera agrees with him, it is a fairly good spot with plenty of surrounding nd to accommodate a growing popution. With time, Nazarick can turn the frontier city into a bastion.
Making the people of E-Rantel more obedient and trustworthy of them is the first step to realizing that goal. Next would be to properly showcase Nazarick's power so that no one, not even Re-Estize, will try and refute Nazarick's cims to the city.
"Hilma doesn't have access to advanced boratories however..." Antikythera muttered. Discounting the issue he just described, there is also the problem of cking a person educated in biochemistry. "If I want to make this work, then I would need to personally watch over the production of the medicines."
Possibly, he can take over the entire thing and just produce the products himself. Hilma can put all her focus on making a name for the company during this time. When Antikythera is done with the finished product, they would be able to sell it to customers who trust in their work. This version of the pn seems far more pusible and efficient than the other one, as educating medieval peasants — or, if they are lucky, mages — in the art of biology would take too much of their time.
It would be years before that yields results, and such precious time cannot be wasted without a proper reason. The fact that Nazarick is facing unknown dangers that can attack them at any moment only serves as more encouragement to avoid decisions which will slow down progress.
Come to think of it, Sakai has found nothing about the ones responsible for attacking Shalltear. Now a new and concerning development has begun to pgue their scouting efforts: the drones getting close to the Argnd Council State have gotten destroyed, indicating that the Dragon Lords who rule over the kingdom might have caught on to what the purpose of the scouting units is.
It made Antikythera concerned about what this could mean going forward, and Sakai herself has stated that the drones, while functional in other regions, being unable to explore the areas around Argnd can mean that they will not be able to anticipate the movements of the Dragon Lords — the only group which can rival Nazarick in power.
A satellite has been recommended by the spectre, but Antikythera denied it.
Not only do they ck the infrastructure to support satellites, but the fact that they do not have computers powerful enough to safely process the data given to them by the proposed satellites is another issue that will hinder this particur pn. In the end, it was simply better to create scouting units with camoufge capabilities than to send out several dozen satellites into the upper atmosphere just so they can spy on a single kingdom.
And besides, the scouting units had powerful cameras in their own right. The zooming function of their visual processors is something to behold as well; they can sit on the peak of a 5,000-foot-tall mountain and still be able to gleam the smallest details going on in the valley below thanks to the camera's zoom function.
The st development which Antikythera considered to be noteworthy enough to get recorded is Renner's ability to control the court with her words. She is not affiliated with Eight Fingers, nor does she know that the organization is controlled by Antikythera. Currently, the royal court is a snake pit where several cobras are fighting the venom of a shrew — and shockingly, it is the tter who is winning.
The nobles were naturally suspicious of where Renner got her own crates of weaponry from, but Antikythera knew that they have been told by the heads of Eight Fingers that the weapons came from an arms dealer independent from that of the organization.
Antikythera did not expect them to be smart enough to conclude that they are able to buy these crates themselves — at least for a while. They'll figure it out eventually — but they should hold suspicions and wonder whether or not Renner has connections to the Baharuth Empire and if they should be concerned.
Naturally, they are unaware of the actual people beyond the curtains pulling the strings, but that's by design. When Jaldabaoth emerges, they, alongside everyone else, will panic at the threat posed by the demon lord.
Momon will swoop in then. He would be hired by Renner to protect the castle — along with several other Adamantium-tier adventurer teams, Red Drop included — and another staged attack from Demiurge will solidify his position as a trusted individual within the present parties of the royal court.
Royal, noble — none of it mattered. They will see the greatness of their Lord's persona and praise him with deserving words of glory and songs of conquests.
=============
If this was still in Yggdrasil, it would be Ulbert role pying as a Demon Lord (a trait Demiurge definitely inherited lol) and then Amanomahitotsu also getting infected with the chuuni virus and joining in on the LARP.
