Chapter 19

AnnouncementNo new chapter for the next 3 weeks.

Seeing that Sydney managed to get things under control, Aiko decided to break the silence as gently as she could. Getting out of her bed, she propped up Sydney's head on her p, gently stroking her head, revealing her tear-stricken face. Eventually, she reached for a pen and some paper on the top of her bedside cabinet.

  #You wanna talk about it?#

Seeing that Sydney had yet to look up, Aiko pced her note back on the bedside cabinet and continued running her hand over her head. Occasionally, quiet sobs escaped Sydney's closed lips as she hugged Aiko's waist.

Eventually, she looked up and saw that Aiko was te for school and frantically ushered her to get ready for school before rushing to the bathroom to prep herself for the day.

  Sydney's PoV.

Just breathe. In. Out. In. Out. Aiko needs to get to school, and she can't drive with her injury, so she needs you to drive. She doesn't need Orion, nor Sydney, just someone capable of driving.

Looking into the mirror, my reflection stared at me, as if it were staring at my soul.

As if gaining a conscious, the reflection shuddered, all of her joints bent in an unnatural way before speaking, as if it were a puppet on strings. Each of her words cut deeper than the st. "You don't deserve this. She deserves a better friend. You didn't even manage to protect her, let alone keep her happy in your company, like a friend should. Be honest here. That AI of hers, Mumei was it, has been a better friend to her than you have for the st 7 years you've known the girl, and she's only known Aiko for a few days."

"Shut up! I don't care! If she wants me to leave, then I'll leave, but until then, I won't just disappear on her. You don't control my fate." I shouted like a madwoman. Aiko definitely heard me.

Despite having broken limbs, the reflection then crossed her arms and shifted her weight to her left leg, accentuating her womanly figure, as if to mock Sydney and the growing dysphoria within her. "So what? You'll cling to her like a child? Can you imagine that? A fully grown adult, clinging to a 17 year old still in school. Are you trying to make a fool of yourself? Trying to make a fool of her?"

And so Orion comes out to defend their friend. "Shut up! What do you know about her? You might know each and every one of my triggers, but you don't know a single thing about Aiko!"

Time to get going, or Aiko's gonna be even ter than she already is and miss her actual lessons, rather than just form time, and so I pry my eyes away from the mirror.

Brushing my teeth and going to the toilet, my eyes avoid the mirror like it was the pgue. But, as I finish up by wiping my face, my gaze reaches the reflection's, which still had its limbs bent too far and a broken arm lifted up, as if by a puppet string.

"You. Don't. Deserve. Her." A chilling, sharp voice pierces the silence, the reflection leaning in towards me, showing off her cleavage to me. Her arm reached towards me, with her fingers spread out, as if to show that I'm in the palm of her hand. Trying to show that she is the one in control. Then the reflection stands upright, silent cracks fill my ears as the reflection's limbs seem to be forcefully returned to normal, her arm that was outstretched towards me dropped, eventually mimicking my every action, as a reflection should.

North Ambassador School - Period 3...

'Sydney is definitely not okay. She doesn't seem to want to talk about it yet though, so I'll keep quiet unless absolutely necessary. She was shouting in the bathroom, so she's definitely not in the right mental state. But what can I do for her? A therapy session? Maybe... but she might see it as insulting. I know a lot of people don't like therapy, she might be one of them.' Aiko thought in the middle of history. This time, Jude and his group had behaved well this lesson, which was surprising for both the css and the teacher.

"Miss Hartford! Since you seem so confident about this lesson, tell me. When did the Great Revolution happen and who started and quelled it?" Ms Kennedy ordered once she found Aiko daydreaming.

With a sigh, Aiko scribbled out her answer on her paper.

#The Great Revolution happened in 1840, started by Harold J. Lar in an attempt to overthrow Christianity as the biggest religion at the time. Christianity had their hands in every major country, giving the religion unbridled power. Priest George Y. Bary discovered this plot early and tried to warn the pope. Unfortunately for him, the Pope, Harry V. Cris, ignored his warnings, and so the Great Revolution happened, with countless countries having their Christian puppet leaders executed via beheading by guillotine.#

Seeing the knowledge Aiko knew, Ms Kennedy praised her, not knowing her voice was being slowly tuned out by her."Well done Miss Hartford. Now if you could just keep your attention on the lesson..."

'I guess a therapy session it is. I don't know what else I could give to help her. I can't give her TS pills* without knowing if she wants to switch genders or not. She won't accept cigarettes either. To think that I would be fine jumping into battle with some unknown gang and come out victorious, but struggle with getting a friend a gift.' Aiko thought as her attention deviated from the lesson again, her thoughts lingering on Harold J. Lar. 'No way. Just a coincidence right? Either way, guess I need to do some digging to see if the Harold Lar of Kill Zone is pnning a Great Revolution as well. I hope I'm wrong, but it'll be a lot of fun if I'm right.
