The Grandfather Clock ticked and ticked, never seeming to stop. The Grandfather Clock toiled and toiled, letting everyone know, their time was up, The Grandfather Clock toiled once more as a cruel, final reminder, their time was up and they were never getting it back, never to experience new things, reflect on old, their time was up, nothing can be done for them. The Grandfather Clock toiled once more letting everyone know their time was up, but The Grandfather Clock kept toiling, mocking them, letting them have the last dregs of hope before erasing it with one final toil. This toil was more special then the ones before, this toil yelled loud and clear for everyone to hear, Their time was up and it is too late now, time has been wasted yet again, and The Grandfather Clock always gets its dues, now as people marched toward it in gloom, knowing that they cannot pay their dues, for time is up and they have used it for their pleasure, and not to pay their dues, as people marched forward.
The Grandfather Clock toiled once more for those left behind to come before it, yet they were all running from it, running from Time is a foolish endeavour, Time moves on without care, faster than anyone can care to keep up with, or even hope to, Time erased those who cannot keep up, gone from the pages of history, forever to be forgotten, forever to be unremembered, their legacies gone, their children left not knowing who sired them or who birthed them, forever left knowing that they are orphans and that Time is watching their step making sure they do not make the same mistakes, yet even with the warning of Time itself, being foolish is apart of human nature, so they shall make the same mistakes as their predecessors in time.

The Grandfather Clock toiled for those who had paid their dues in other ways and turned its attention to the line in front of it, it judged each human for what it did, what it was, why it did and how, and finally if they had paid their dues. If they had not they shall be erased like those who ran from Time, if they had they may have more time for little it does to erase the inevitability of being erased from existence.
As Time went on the line was reduced from many, to not so many, to none at all. All having paid their dues in one way or another, The Grandfather Clock toiled once more and went dormant, it need not worry as everyone will pay their dues, and if not… Time had its way.
