Orcrage and Astra found themselves unwelcome back in the demonic realms

  There was a rumor that they had defected, and they were seen coming from the realm of humans

  The Demon King no longer trusted them and had put a hit on them, forcing them to flee after a few assassination attempts on their lives

  Orcrage legitimately had the support of the High Orcs, orcs, kobolds, werewolves and several other races if he was to challenge the Demon King. And Astra herself had support from the spider-people, vampires, succubi, mia and a few more races. If they were to join forces, they may very well be a threat to the Demon King

  Having nowhere else to run to, they crossed back to the human realms ad headed for the furthest domain of the humans from the demon realm, the seaside town of Sailormon

  The trip took them half a year as they avoided as many human checkpoints as they could. It was fortunate that Astra was a sorceress, not only adapt at her Dark Elf racial magics, but in many magics in general, including illusion and transmogrifying

  Orcrage was a high orc, stronger and mightier than a normal orc, with red skin signifying his high orc heritage, Astra had to change all that and changed him into a blonde barbarian with simir proportions so as not to use too much magic

  Astra on the other hand had transformed herself from a dark skinned Dark Elf, into a fair ginger haired half-elf. A pure elf would have blonde hair, and a high-elf would have silver hair. So she decided to become a half-elf as she couldn't bring herself to become a high elf or pure elf

  Everything about them was a misdirection, as Orcrage would have to pretend that he was a mere barbarian, hiding his Fme magic, and Astra would only use the bow in public, although she was constantly using magic to disguise themselves.

  But this was easy for them, as they were legendary warriors even without their magic. Even performing poorly, they would be miles better than their human counterparts which they were hiding in

  Even their names had changed, with Orcrage calling himself Cage and Astra calling herself Astrid

  And over the 6 months travelling together, they actually started to fall in love, eventually having sex like real lovers

  It took time, as Astrid needed time to heal from him hurting her, but she eventually gave in to Cage, who was polite and gentle with her, showing her his soft side

  Both Cage and Astrid settled down in Sailormon, getting married there and even joining the adventurer guild

  They formed a small group of two, completing many missions, but they were not against joining other mercenaries too in completing missions and conquering dungeons

  They rose rapidly, gaining rank after rank, rising from rank E to rank B adventurers

  Then suddenly, Astrid got pregnant, and took retired from adventuring

  Cage suddenly took a break from adventuring too, and instead started taking safer jobs such as being a guard for the town and being a hunter

  Their adventurer friends thought it was a shame that they quit adventuring, but knowing that they were having a baby, they understood

  But they were sure the couple could have easily become A Ranked adventurers, the first in the town. And who knows, maybe they could eventually have reached S rank?

  A year after settling down in Sailormon, the sound of a baby crying filled the air

  "It's our boy, Orcrage" Astra smiled as she passed the baby to Orcrage

  "My.. boy. Our boy" Orcrage smiled happily

  Unlike Orcrage, who had red skin, and Astra who had bck skin, their baby looked like a Half-Elf with dark brown skin

  "What shall we name him?" Orcrage asked

  "What do you think of Asn?" Astra asked

  "What does the name mean?" Orcrage asked

  "No meaning. It's just the name of a lion I read about on the way here, that killed 25o people before being killed. I just like the name" she said

  "I have no objections. From now on, your name is Asn" he whispered to the baby who had quietened down

  Days ter, many of the friends they met visited them and congratuted them on their baby boy

  The baby boy Asn grew as a warrior, and by four was learning the sword and the axe from his father, the barbarian Cage, learning how to harness his "barbarian rage", increasing his strength but still remaining sane and lucid. Best of both worlds as he could "hulk" out without losing control

  He was also fortunate his mother Astrid was an expert with the bow, having been trained with the elves as a half-elf herself

  Secretly, his mother taught him a few moves, in case of emergency. Moves with dual daggers, which he seemed to pick up easily too

  But the people in town were not surprised. He was, after all, the son of the once fastest rising adventurers in town. It was a shame that they retired to have a family life. But their son being so talented gave them hope for another rising star!

  So Asn trained at home and eventually joined school at 7 years old, making lots of friends and living a normal life

  By now, he was already an expert with several weapons and the bow, making school very easy for him, especially during weapons css

  He was already much more proficient than his teachers, and had gone out hunting with his father and mother regurly

  By the time he turned 9, while being at home with his parents, he suddenly manifested fmes from his hands. It didn't burn him, but it covered his hands and he could not put it out!

  "Help mummy! I can't get it out!" he said as he ran to his parents

  "Dear.. I think it's time for the talk. You teach him how to put it out first" Astrid said

  "Asn! Calm down and breathe. Imagine your fme and immediately putting it out!" Cage commanded

  Asn was frightened at the harsh tone of his gentle father's voice, but understood that this commands needed to be obeyed

  Hw did as he was told and was surprised how the fme obeyed and snuffed itself out

  "Done dear!" Cage said and brought Asn to the living room where his mother was waiting

  "I have put a sound barrier around the house. We should have that talk" Astrid said with a gentle smile

  Asn was confused but nodded

  "Azn, don't panic for what I am about to show you!" she said

  Asn nodded again. Suddenly, the faces of Cage and Astrid changed to two people he didn't recognize! His father changed to become a red orc, and his mother changed to become a dark elf!

  "Who... who are you?" Asn said in a panic

  "Don't be scared, son. This is the real us. We were on the run when we finally settled in Sailormon and gave birth to you" Orcrage said

  "We were fortunate that we didn't have to disguise you, and you were born just the way you are" Astra said

  "Disguise? On the run from who? Who are you really?" Asn asked

  "My.. name is Orcrage, a High Orc. Once, I was the leader of the High Orcs, and one of the leaders of the Demon army" Orcrage said as gently as he could

  "I.. am Astra. Queen of the Dark Elves, and I was once also a leader of the Demon army" Astra said

  "The queen of the dark and chaos!" Asn said, remembering her title from school

  "You already know of us?" Orcrage asked

  "Yes. Our lessons covered you. You were supposedly killed in battle" Asn said

  "Really? I would be curious to find out the story on that. But the reality is, this is where we are" Orcrage said

  Asn was hesitant at first, but although their appearance was different, their behaviour and style of speach was the same. These were his parents

  And when Astra turned them back to their familiar disguised visages, he immediately ran to hug them

  His training didn't stop, but he started training in his racial magics, namely the fme magics of the High Orcs, and the magics of Darkness of the Dark Elves. Racial magic was different in that the use didn't use mana, and theoretically was inexhaustible

  And like before, Asn easily became very adapt at using them, only he was not allowed to show his magical abilities in the open to keep it secret and hide the fact that his magic are racial

  Over the next few years, he learned all the racial magics his parents could teach him, magics that had made them legendary fighters. But he had brought his racial magic to a higher level, and was able to mix both magic. He was such a talent that his mother trained him in magic proper as well

  By the time he turned 12, he would be sent, with the rest of his css, to the priest to determine if he was adept in magic and hence could be sent to magic school

  Astra had already prepared for this, of course, and taught him how to hide his racial magics

  It was a simple magic tool, and he was already secretly more advanced than all his peers, and most of the adults too, so all he had to do was manifest a certain magic spell before the magic detection tool was used

  When it was his turn, he walked up to the priest, and his staff that his mother gave him lit on fire!

  "Will this do?" Asn asked the priest, as no other kid before him manifested as a magician

  "That's impressive, son. But you will still have to touch the detection tool" the priest said

  Asn touched the orb and it turned bright red

  "The mana of fire. He is a fme mage!" the priest said, just as his mother predicted

  The crowd cpped, his parents were also watching from the crowd as the first magician was detected among the kids, the first in many years

  With this, he would be given a full schorship to the Magic Academy of Almera

  Orcrage wasn't sure about this at first, but Astra figured that since their son wasn't wanted, he should be given the best opportunities in life

  If he was accepted in the Academy, his future was a bright one. Both Astra and Orcrage would be hidden in the distant Sailormon anyway

  Asn said goodbye to his parents as the carriage departed from Sailormon

  He was the only one who qualified for the Magic Academy of Almera and he watched the seaside town slowly grew out of sight

  Strange, he thought. He had stayed here all his life, but has never been to the sea. He has watched the sea faring ships all his life, but never been on one himself

  Perhaps it's because his parents were a High Orc and Dark Elf, both races that were never seafaring races, and who had lived all their lives on nd

  He has been on rivers and kes during the many hunts he went with his parents, and there was a freaking ke behind his house. He definitely learned how to swim from his father. But his parents always said that they preferred solid ground under their feet and they told him the sea was another level compared to the ke or rivers

  Besides, being so far north, the sea here was very rough and cold, there were no sunny beaches

  He daydreamt as the carriage raced past the cliffside paths, high above the sea below. A drop from here would be fatal, he thought

  Then the carriage turned to enter the forest path, leading them towards another nearby town to pick up another schorship student, like him
